    Diveman underwater breather

There is one up on ebay now. $100 delivered. I used this thing before it went to market here in the USA. A buddy of mine worked for a Japanese import/export co in NYC and they were deciding on whether or not to finance this thing. It works, but you better be coordinated. I was only in a 12' pool...

Never saw a rig like this. Should I have???

I understand the feelings of loss associated with the '66 tempest, but the MK7, Really? Now I don't want the Knights of Templar or the Protectors of All Things Scubapro outside my door but I sill use one. One end of a 100' cord is tied the MK7 and the other end to a Clorox bottle. When the...

Never saw a rig like this. Should I have???

Ah! of course. I was so mystified by what I was seeing I missed the obvious. Right, the hose protector on the 109's LP hose is loose so the hose is jammed way up. At first glance is looks to be a 10" hose coupled to the corrugated hose. Meanwhile I'm zooming in to try to rationalize the whole...

Never saw a rig like this. Should I have???

I was checking ebay when I came across this listing. Can someone tell me what on Earth (or any other planet) this bcd is set up for??? That's a SP R109 attached to the inflator hose. How? and Why? Are they orally inflating the BCD through it? Could that be a splitter down by the 109? I see a...

Opening up an older bottom timer to get it working (pic)

Hi Tim. No O-ring. It's glued shut. Look up at the earlier link from Texfrazer. It's exactly the same as those pictured by the author. I'll probably open it up just the same. It makes sense about them going completely dead. Built in obsolescence.

Opening up an older bottom timer to get it working (pic)

Thanks for the link. Too bad it's dead already. May open it up just to have a look-see anyway.

"Digital"? I'm not sure I understand your one word reply.

Opening up an older bottom timer to get it working (pic)

This is an out-of-business US Tech depth/time/temp gauge. Perhaps only for tinkering purposes, how would I go about opening this up? or can I? It appears that the black back is glued to the unit. I realize it has little to no value, but I would still like to open it up and perhaps get it...

Aluminum Hanger Bracket(?) Pop Riveted to Console

A dive buddy told me he thinks the early deco meters might have snapped on the thing. Ring a bell? He couldn't swear to it.

Bladder Elbow leak. Why give up on repair?

LDS? Liability? This is a DIY forum. I believe the rest of the bladder is quite sound. It was the elbow that cracked. I'm in the middle of a bathroom remodel but first chance I am going to hit the bike shop for a salvaged inner tube that I can fashion a gasket out of and get this inflated. Pics...

Aluminum Hanger Bracket(?) Pop Riveted to Console

Here's a pic of front and back. I'm assuming there must be a mating half that gets attached to the BCD somewhere/somehow thereby keeping your console close at hand. I've come across several in slightly different variations but always on a plastic console.

Aluminum Hanger Bracket(?) Pop Riveted to Console

I've seen this any number of times on hard plastic consoles but have yet to see the other half. Can anyone show us a picture? or at least describe where it attached? Thanks.

Bladder Elbow leak. Why give up on repair?

I took this elbow from a mangled horsecollar that I forgot I had laying around. The red arrow in the pic is pointing to where a translucent yellowish gasket (crumbled from age) once existed. I think I can slip the male threaded flange inside the urethane bladder with a new gasket on it and...

Can you I.D. these LPI hose ends?

Luis H you are good! "From the picture I can’t tell for sure if it is the Scubapro or a copy. It looks like the Scubapro, but something about it doesn’t look exactly right." Well they are not the same diameter. I went back to the box and used a drill bit end just to be sure and they are...

Can you I.D. these LPI hose ends?

Oddly enough I found another one buried in the boxes with "scubapro pressure tested" text on the hose. So we can assume this was used only on the old horse collars? or other SP bcd's? In this pic you can clearly see the spring steel. That tab is a continuous piece of metal that wraps around the...

Can you I.D. these LPI hose ends?

I know these things most likely have official names, but more importantly, I can't remember what they all fit. #4 is a slightly different size that a scubapro connection but definitely not a standard connection. #2 is from and old USD bc that I have somewhere around here. Anyway, if you know...

Bladder Elbow leak. Why give up on repair?

ok, I called it a bulkhead fitting for lack of a better term. But a "bondless fitting. I.e. an inner flange with a gasket, an outer flange/elbow also with a gasket" is what I meant to say (thanks Couv). So where to get one? The attached pic is a typical replacement bcd elbow when the receiving...

Bladder Elbow leak. Why give up on repair?

Here is a picture of the release door. The hinge pin laying in the foreground is attached by stainless steel cable so you don't lose it.

Bladder Elbow leak. Why give up on repair?

Thanks for the link dannobee. Not exactly sure what I'm looking at. "This is designed to be used with wing bladders that are not welded to the base". Huh? How would I get to the inside of the bladder? I once replaced an OPV valve in a drysuit but I obviously had access to both sides. In regards...

Bladder Elbow leak. Why give up on repair?

If I understand correctly from similar posts, the original elbow connection was an RF (radio frequency) weld. The elbow was cracked so I removed it. The weld separated cleanly. Is there no way to fix this? The bladder is fine otherwise and the BCD is in great shape. OK, now is when many will say...
