Anybody heard of Tommy D Sports?

Yeah, I was checking out Scubatoys since Divinglonghorn has said something. I have seen a lot of great stuff. You make a very valid point about service and warranty. Thanks for the help!!!

Anybody heard of Tommy D Sports?

I am slowly trying to buy all of my gear and I am on a bit of a budget. I came across these guys: http://www.tommydsports.com/products/pages/bcd.htm I tried searching and couldn't find anything. Cost wise, they look good, on paper they look decent too. Has anybody had any experience with...

    Gear stolen

I came across this on CL. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/spo/419675402.html It is kind of fishy to me since he isn't using the proper names for things...like instead of regulators he is calling them breathing equipment. I know no regulators are listed above but he did list an Oceanic BC.

    Starting Classes Tonight

Well it was a NAUI class, but I am sure they have similar rules about the first few dives. It probably doesn't matter, but we were only down at 70' for a matter of a minute or two.

    Starting Classes Tonight

Well we did our first boat dives on Saturay at Anacapa Island. A total of three dives, one skin dive and two SCUBA. Some people from the class had never swam in the ocean so the instructor wanted to get them used to it with the skin dive. Still plenty to see though, calico bass, lobster...

    Starting Classes Tonight

Well last night we finished our fourth and final pool dive. My wife never once floated to the surface, had no problems with any of the skills tests and looked like a completely different diver in the pool last night. I am very proud of her. The instructor said we were both good to go to the...

    offbeat fin question (and feet)

It was Potassium. I thought potassium kept you from cramping? That is why I was told to eat banana's if I got cramps. Well, now I will have another supplement to buy. But if that is the case, I think maybe a combo of the new fins and staying hydrated is helping.

    offbeat fin question (and feet)

Just a side note, I ended up buying a set of Scubapro Twin Jets and it has a nice, wide , soft (at least compared to my last set of fins), comforatble foot pocket. I have used them twice with no cramps!!! I have also been taking some potassium supplements though before I dive in addition to...

    Starting Classes Tonight

Well Tuesday night we finished our third pool dive. She got much better at neutral bouyancy at the end of the class. She did say one problem is that the intructor aid, the one I talked about earlier was rushing her underwater telling her to get going (we were practicing swimming around) before...

    Starting Classes Tonight

The instructor actually went to show her the rear dump valve on the bottom of her BC only to be surprised that the BC she was using didn't have one. The good thing is, the insturctor said he would replace the BC with a different one that did have a rear dump valve. As for the on on her...

    Starting Classes Tonight

So you are saying it is a hazing/initiation into the world of SCUBA??? Either way, it's cool, I am just excited that in about a week and a half, as long as both my wife and I do well in the next two pool sessions, we get to do an ocean dive. Well one thing she was talking with the instructor...

    Starting Classes Tonight

Well pool session two went off with out a hitch, at least for me. My wife was having some issues with bouyancy control at first, the instructor called it yo-yo diving since she was going up and down a bit. But then she started getting better. Some of the other students not so much. But some...

    offbeat fin question (and feet)

I had an issue like that with my foot cramping. It would do it in ski boots, but not snowboard boots, roller blades, my fins, and someother things. What I found out is I have a wide foot, and if something is too tight on the side of my feet, I get cramps. My snowboard boats are plenty wide...
