Oasis Divers Phoenix has ceased operations

Unfortunately, the scooter purchases have been delayed. My light just took a dump and has to go back for a $800 Sandroff upgrade and my youngest son is begging for a can of his own. Do you need a concrete countertop... or maybe a hernia check? We ARE working up a plan for Tulum in November...

Oasis Divers Phoenix has ceased operations

For just a minute there I had visions of exploring vast unknown dark places with the Sampson Clan... then I woke up!

Oasis Divers Phoenix has ceased operations

Yep. The physics here on Earth have become way too ho hum. Time to step it up a notch. If my partner doesn't rejoin the land of the living soon, I may have to start looking for a new one. Was that an offer to leave us a key to your scooter room? :11: Right on! :D

I couldn't resist taking a jab at the Master.

Good thing my instructor will be with you guys. She can probably fill in the holes the old man left in your training. Of course, you only have a week... so I'm not sure. :D

REALISTIC Trip report San Carlos/Guaymas Aug 8-10

Good. That's what I wanted to hear. I have no idea. Just because they dive there frequently doesn't mean they know what they're doing. I'm just glad they weren't ours. I am curious why you went with them. You should have done your own thing. You would have had a better dive...

I believe his question was rhetorical. What diver isn't taught this?

REALISTIC Trip report San Carlos/Guaymas Aug 8-10

We were on the boat Sat. morning. The Ocean Spirit is typically chartered by Arizona dive shops just as it was that day. Unfortunately, Ocean Sports has a bad habit of crowding walk-ons onto the boat at the last minute. Packing the boat full like that decreases the enjoyment for all. We don't...

    SeaVision Gauge Reader Mask

I ordered one direct from Seavision. It put painful pressure on my nose. They reluctantly took it back and they weren't particulary pleasant about it... and they didn't want to send me a different model to try. I was a little surprised at their attitude.

Finally the media is paying attention!

Nice info (as usual), Coach! Thanks! I loved the Stanford reference. I took a look at the stair climbers after I read the article. Everyone was resting their arms. I told my trainer about the research... he too, was surprised.

What regs do you use for tech diving and why?

Pretty much the ones already mentioned. I'm old school and like the Apeks DS4. Tried and true... a long time standard in the tech world. The SP and Atomics are hard to beat. More expensive than the DS4, but with a LP port on the bottom, are very versatile for routing.

What regs do you use for tech diving and why?

    Think porting and hose routing.

Any reason to not go steel?

The "swing" of a cylinder has nada to do with the material from which the cylinder is made. It is only a function of the amount of the gas. In this case, the amount of gas in each cylinder is almost the same... a steel HP 80 holds 80 cuft at its rated pressure and an Al80 holds 77.4 cuft. The...

Any reason to not go steel?

Better re-think that one, Jim. How much air ya got in each cylinder?

Censorship and SB..how far are we going to take this???

Not banned... not yet. But I have been told what I can and can't talk about. So, pardon me if I don't get too worked up about whether or not I can use a profanity... talk about religion or politics... or show pics of myself in a speedo. IMHO, open discussion of scuba... even when done in a...

    Heavy Backplate Needed

    I sold a couple of his plates a while back... a 10# 1/4" and a 17# 3/8". Here's a pic of the 17 pounder.

Your profile suggest that you dive mostly twins. Are you looking for a heavy plate to use with a single cylinder or doubles? Both?
