Upon a further search on that page you linked me to I did see that they do a “get familiar with the area” kind of dive with very few people. That’s a cool idea as I’m still not that comfortable. Thanks
Thanks for that. But it says they want you to have done a dive in Victoria in the last 12 months. I did find a dive off the Mornington Peninsula through Google so I guess I’ll start with that then. Seahorses will be cool.
Hi all. Did a search and found nothing. I’m a beginner diver that wants to do a dive before it goes too long in between. I’ve done Moreton island, Cook Island, Lady Musgrave and the Gold Coast Seaway. Where’s good in Melbourne where I’m residing for now? Thanks
So I’m finally doing another dive tomorrow and it should be a simple one at the Moreton Island wrecks. However it’s last minute and I am not very familiar with my new dive watch. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Does it just work or? Don’t have much time to research much so I really...
Then hopefully we can avoid that by having a conversation ahead of time as suggested above. Luckily, I’m quite new and it’s been programmed in my head to go for the octo so God willing I won’t be “crazed” and after their reg. Good to know though and I’ll be ready in case I’m on the receiving...
Well, we were actually taught to simply turn our hips in their direction and offer the octo for them to grab. Reason being if someone comes up to you OOA typically they won’t be very patient as you described. Best to let them simply take it rather than being forced to wait for you to offer it...
It is cheaper but I believe you still need to buy the weight pockets which adds an extra $170 if I’m not mistaken. Added to that, I can buy a pink wing as yes I’m a total girl lol and the numbers go up again. Besides being my favourite colour, I can justify that it will make me easier to spot in...
I don’t know too much about putting stuff together. I just read a ton of good things about the Hydros. I’m intrigued by the idea it moulds (correct spelling in Aus) to your body. It’s meant to dry super fast which is great for travel and that’s really important to me when things settle down...

I want the pink I think. This is how I know. This is what I’ve zeroed in on recently after much deliberation. Haven’t 100% decided but it has a purple option .
So I dove off Lady Musgrave Island and was sad to see my go pro video was very foggy. I did my research and discovered that you can buy these inserts to put in the case to prevent the fog. I just want to know that they work before I count on them and then they don’t work. That would suck as I...
I’ll take one with me always. I used a soft one in training that really was not obtrusive. The one I have is a little large and a pain to pack and haul around. I think I’ll eventually get a collapsible one but for now I don’t want to fiddle around in the water more than necessary as I have...
Sharing info is great. However, if you read some of the replies, some folks like to be quite insulting or condescending and that’s just not productive or mature.

Sounds awesome with that turtle and a quick internet search turned up several articles that also mention the snorkel may create drag. It makes sense. I don’t need to be a scuba expert to see that what you’re saying is accurate. Thank you for your feedback.sou
Sounds awesome! I believe...
