I have a 9 I've just started using underwater. What do you use to mount the light? Do you use a tray?

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

To provide an update. I don't know why I never tried before but diving yesterday and reg was still breathing wet, I turned the venturi setting off during the dive and instantly the reg was dry. Whole rest of dive it stayed dry. I flipped the switch a few times and it was instantly noticeable...

Was the course in person or online? I can't find any information on such a course.

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

Hi Rose. I'm the OP. I was never instructed to to tinker with the regulator. Chris suggested using water on the diaphragm before attaching the faceplate as there is a chance the diaphragm may not seat properly. This definitely improved the breathing of the reg. I had already inspected the...

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

Yea that is a lot of what the discussion with Chris was about. He also suggested wetting the diaphragm before putting on the faceplate as it'll be less slightly to catch on the diaphragm and twist it. (I believe that was the reason). It definitely breathes less wet this way but still...

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

Yea I removed the second stage from hose and plugged it with my finger and don't think any air getting in, it feels like a vacuum but don't want to inhale too hard and cause damage. Mouth piece is standard one that came with the reg.

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

So to update. Followed advise to wet diaphragm before putting on faceplate. This partially helped and breathing was less wet. I really focused on testing what could be causing the wet breathing. Slow controlled breaths are mostly dry. If I do quick/harsh breaths it is far more wet. I was able...

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

I just tried this with mask and removed regulator from hose and covered port. Definitely getting a seal. Removed exhaust port and examined exhaust diaphragm and no damage. I have tried the same mouthpiece of an apex atx40 with no wet breathing so it does have something to do with the deep6...

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

It happens intermittently through the dive and it is always a little "wet". I haven't isolated if a position makes it worse between head down, forward or either side. Someone else posted how to remove exhaust cover. So I will try that and see if they are damage or any debris then reseat. After...

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

Will give this a shot. Thought I read in the manual I needed sidecutters to remove it and didn't want to go that far.

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

I was hoping to diagnose and try to fix it myself if possible as I am in Canada so sending back to deep6 would be a little costly and time consuming. But maybe I'll have to go that route.

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

I have tried that test but hooked up to my tanks with the air off. Seems to form a vacuum is why I was thinking it was the exhaust.

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

They were leaking from day 1 before I ever took off the faces. Both 2nd stages are doing it, that's correct.

    Deep6 reg breathing wet

I have the deep6 signature series regulators and they are breathing wet. I have checked the diaphragm for damage and cleaned it with a mild detergent. I have checked the mouthpiece for damage and that it is installed correctly but still I get minor water intrusion that causes me to cough a...

    Mouth piece, comfobite and deep6

It wasn't a knock off I took it off my apeks atx40 regulators. So I'm sure is is aqualung as they own apeks.

    Mouth piece, comfobite and deep6

I recently switched to deep 6 regulators to use with twin tanks. Previously I had apeks regulators and really liked the apeks comfobite mouth piece. I tried to remove the mouth piece and put it on the deep6 second stage but it seems too loose. It is quite a bit larger and does not fit snugly...

    Regulators for doubles

Yes that's a good idea. I'll look into the cross border package shipping. I forgot about those services, thank you! Probably sell my ds4 to offset some of the cost.
