    Crack bottles and such....wtf?

Personally I'm averse to intentionally free flowing a reg at depth, especially in cold water. This is partly why I'm searching for a self inflating DSMB. Thanks.

    Crack bottles and such....wtf?

That's the type I already have. They're know colloquially as, crack bottles. The problem is that I need a new bottle and as far as I know, they are only available in the UK. There are a couple of companies that make a CO2 version, the cartridges can be purchased anywhere, however, one...

    Crack bottles and such....wtf?

I did think about this. It would have to be able to withstand salt water. Do you have knowledge of such a thing?

    Crack bottles and such....wtf?

I already have an AP DSMB that's powered by a crack bottle, the bottle is getting old and should be replaced, I'd like to replace it with a CO2 powered one.

    Crack bottles and such....wtf?

Why is it I'm having a great deal of difficulty finding a retailer to sell me a CO2 powered DSMB? I can find some limited info from the UK but nothing from North America, are they illegal? I'd be grateful if someone could shed some light on this.

    Sidemount Training

Gotta say your probably right. Diving the SMS 75 with steels is a joy, with alu, not so much. I have come across many obstacles when self training sidemount, yet I doubt taking a sidemount course with my local shop would have helped. Maybe if I could have taken a course directly from Hollis it...

    Sidemount Training

Yes thats the book. You're right, it is inappropriate, however needs must. There are some great videos on the net that answered many questions.

    SMS75 enough lift?

20lbs is the weight I dive with when using steel LP 72. May have been a tad much when using the 100s but not that much.

    Sidemount Training

My friend did the TDI sidemount course and was thoroughly underwhelmed. I called my local dive store and asked about training. They told me, if I bought the gear, they would show me how to use it. I told them that I didn't know what to buy because I knew nothing about sidemount, impass. So, I...

    SMS75 enough lift?

WhIle we're on the subject of lift, I do feel the 75 could use more. I have dived 100 hp steels with the 75 and it seemed fine. However, once at the sufaces I felt low in the water even with my drysuit inflated. It does worry me if I ever had a suit failure. I though about removing the bungee...

    Aluminum 80 fix?!?

I threaded a 2 1/2 lbs bullet on my tank strap. That seemed to take care of that.
