three divers rescued in the St Lawrence

We do an extreme sport in an extreme condition.. It puts HUGE loads on our bodies.. People say that swimming is one of the best forms of cardio to give your body a work out, so just imagine if the same people did the same test on a diver who is swimming through a heavy current with the...

Hey its all good, when stuff like this happens.. we all know tons of information gets tossed around and sometimes misconstrued. But as of now, Blair had gone to the hospital due to a rapid accent in the rescue.. Chris had completed his minimal deco obligations to surface faster.. Blair has...

I can not speak on behalf of Michael.. However Blair and Chris where both very compentant technical divers ( Full trimix, Cave and rebreahter divers )not ones who would panic... Have done that dive many many times. I have dove a few times with both of these divers and would put my life in...

For what it is worth, according to the OUC report thus far from first hand knowledge of the accident. The diver showed signs of distress and was escorted to the surface with his buddy. Seems during the accent the diver then lost vital signs. Taken from here

yet another sign posted at BIG BAY

I have spoken allot with councilor Davidson as well as bylaw officers while they where working this all out. The bylaw is no diving from town docks. beaches adjacent to them are fine! However right away is to be given to the boaters. The Dock is owned by the town, I have been told a...

Big bay point diving regulated in 2011

I had over heard someone talking at the site the other day saying they will just truck in all the gear and load his friends in... Drop all the gear and friends at the beach and then park out by the golf course ( not sure what parking limits are there ) and he will keep his bike in his truck and...

Big bay point diving regulated in 2011

Correct permits are only issued to town residents, We get one in the mail with our taxes every year and then we can pick up 1 additional from the town hall however have to provide our drivers license proving our address to get it. This has been contested for years and no one has ever won...

Are they ever going to get the approval to even start that Resort/marina plan. I know boat traffic and usage of the dock dropped a lot when they closed down the BBP Marina.

Big bay point diving regulated in 2011

That is pretty much what it boils down to. I mean most shops who use the area tend not to use the dock from what i have seen in the 15+ years of using that dock. I have used the dock maybe twice and both times i found it much easier to use the beach, first you tend to hit the ground if your...

Big bay point diving regulated in 2011

Most of the beaches in Innisfil are permit only, Or the beaches with larger areas for parking have pay meters or pay to enter. Most beaches where there is permit only parking does have free parking however it's not always convenient and typically a long walk. To my understanding the permits...

Big bay point diving regulated in 2011

Speaking with Dan Davidson this is how it appears it will work out. - Diving from the physical dock will be prohibited from may 15th - October 15th. - Diving from the beach will be allowed as will swimming however they do request that a dive flag be floated and that we are to enter and...

    Deep Shore Dives

Cedar Hill does require some swimming, I believe when we where there we where doing moderate swimming for 20 mins and only hit 125 feet. Honesty there was nothing to see beyond 60 feet.. just straight mud the whole way down... Would rather make the drive another 40 mins and go to Toby :D

    Double HP130's; am I crazy?

I have been diving PST 130's now for a while and love them. I do find them difficult at times when doing rough shore entries. I keep two sets of doubles. - Double AL80's for the every day diving from shore or simple boat dives - Double PST 130's for any extended range diving or multi dive...

    wetsuit for 58 degree waters?

It all comes down to what your personal tolerances are. I dive a dry suit year round now, before then i would dive a 7/5 suit year round ( 34 degree waters ).
