Without commentary on the pros/cons of cleaning your own lenses, for the Oly 9-18mm is there a way to access the front lens element or does the entire lens need to be taken out from the rear. I'm unclear if the black ring can be unscrewed to gain access.

Sorry for my confusion if this answer is stated and I am missing it. I know that IP is added to ambient pressure but I thought that the 2nd stage brings the IP down to ambient pressure. So is gas being delivered to the diver's mouth at ambient pressure or IP plus ambient?

So it seems as if the common IP range was determined for most manufacturers regulators to perform at their optimal level in relation to 2nd stage diaphram size, orifice diameter, etc. It could be 20psi or 250psi dependent on regulator design. Right? Do I have this correct... The IP pressure...

I accidently erased my original post when editing it...sorry. What I asked was if the current range of approx. 125-145 IP above ambient pressure standard in modern regulators was decided upon because the recreational depth limit of about 130' or 5 ata comes to about 70psi. So at least IP 70 psi...

Going back to regulator design, how was an IP range of approx. 125-145 psi chosen as the optimal range?
