I've got a canon g9x mk2 with a fantasea housing and an inon z240 type 4 strobe and a seafrogs 6" dome sat on a shelf doing nothing, if that's of interest?
...and i'm planning to be at the show.
Thanks. Miflexhoseshop in the uk have some batteries in stock. feels a bit risky though, mine are only just over a year old...i prefer my dive kit to last more than a year!!!
I had the same problem.
Rather than change the cable length, now I have a loop of bungee tied onto the cable. I put my arm through that loop, and the loop sits above my elbow then the computer on my wrist. The bungee keeps it all nice and tidy and close to my arm.
In case you don't already know, UK caves (in terms of diving) are probably nothing like the caves you trained or have dived in (assuming that is you trained somewhere like the Lot in France, Mexico, Florida or the like). Mines are probably more similar (in terms of good vis) and there are...
This feels a bit OT, but I had loss of O2 due to the DIN insert came unscrewed...not sure why it got loose, I imagine it took a knock on the boat after my checks or had already worked loose but was tight enough to pass pre-dive checks. I depressurised after the checks then turned on again before...
I have triggered mine (at 0.4) and it is awesome. I had to go SCR a couple of days ago and it was nice to get that unmistakeable vibration alert when the po2 dropped and I had taken a couple too many breaths before flushing.
In fact, it was 'seeing', well, hearing the vibration alert on a...
Worth making sure you can get the BOV serviced easily or get the parts to do it yourself. The people I’ve asked about servicing mine here in the uk have been slow responding so I’m trying to source o rings to do it myself
that's probably worth another thread :)
I hated the po2 monitor - it has one button and needs to be recharged regularly. hardwired shearwater however, was great.
flood recovery not great, but there is at least a way of getting water out of it
i didn't like the chest clutter, never was really...
I had a triton and now have a sidewinder. the triton was by far easier to manage in terms of weight, setup, portability etc. in the water through narrower stuff, for me, the sidewinder is better. I miss the triton when walking into a cave/mine :)
Whilst I love the idea of fancy 3d printed/repurposed dispensing 'things' as much as anyone :), I've found the easiest for me to just decant from a big tub into 5 litre containers and fill from them. Really simple and easy to transport/use.
I had a period of a few weeks when my nose would 'vent' while hanging on deco, typically on a trapeze or shot line...but this was on exhaling, not inhaling. In the end I was gently pressing on the glass of my mask to maintain the seal.
I'm not entirely sure what solved it but I think it might...
FWI I have a prusa mk3s and to make it fit I used the features in prusa slicer to cut off the hook bit and introduce a couple of holes so that I could hang the hanger itself from a bit of string.
Works well as a hanger :)
The only thing I found with triton is that it is a little harder to reach the scooter ring on the crotch strap because my arm had to go around/over the chest bag and I couldn't actually see the D ring...but it wasn't a big drama with a bit of practice.
Yep. i've been using ds4 and dsts for years and years, no problems with seats or the like. I only tend to service them every couple of years. the only 'downside' from my perspective is that they're a bit bigger and heavier than equivalent (say) scubapro regs.
Hi, we're thinking about a family trip to the Zanzibar area (from the UK) to do some diving (coupled possibly with a bit of Safari on the mainland beforehand).
We're all adults and will be diving OC with the least experienced diver having done around 50 dives and we're happy diving to 30m+...
