Still a new diver in 2014, I purchased my first dive computer which was an Oceanic Pro Plus 3. My first trip was Cozumel with 5-days of diving with 2 morning dives each day. After diving the first 2 dives on the first day, I took an afternoon nap. During my nap, my PP3 turned on, thought it...
My go to for Caribbean temps (78-84'ish) is a full 1mm wet suit with lycra socks, shorts and long sleeve rash guard which helps get the wet suit on/off and to wear after I'm out of the wet suit. I'll switch to a full 3mm around 78 and lower... the long sleeve rash guard really helps get my...
I've been on this boat twice (2015 and 2016) on 10-day trips. I had a great time both trips and look forward to going again.
I'd add the following to the above suggestions:
-- With COVID, I'm don't know what has changed with the "process". After departing the boat on the last day, we walked...
When I cancelled my flights for my 01-08 April Cozumel trip, I received a full credit for a future flight. I was fine with a credit as I expect to fly again once this runs its course. This article suggest waiting if you'd prefer the chance at a refund: Coronavirus travel: Don't cancel flights...
Something is up.
I was scheduled for a trip to Cozumel 01-08 April. I had decided to cancel the trip but hadn't yet started the cancellation process. Originally, I was flying United with a connection in Houston. I just received a schedule update email that my flight to Houston had changed...
I posted this link in a Bay Islands (Honduras) thread as a source of information. It's from the US Department of State and is COVID-19 information searchable by country: COVID-19 Country Specific Information. As of midnight Sunday, Honduras has closed all its borders for 7 days.
For Mexico...

Lunch and nap and then alternate days with either:
-- 2-tank afternoon/twilight/night diving with Cozumel Chef dinner waiting upon our return to our villa
or
-- dinner/drinks in town
+1 for Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation. Was just on the Big Island last month for the first time and visited Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation. I enjoyed my time there. No problem Uber'ing to/from as well.
What would be the problem of a dive computer in an airplane compartment whether it's pressurized or not? The pressure is lower than the surface pressure in both cases.
A related question: I've guessed/assumed that "dive activated" computers are activated by detecting pressure higher than what...
Zip tie it to your BCD in a spot that makes sense to you. I zip tie mine to my right shoulder strap. It shifts on me a little but I haven't figured out a better spot and it doesn't bother me enough to worry about it.
I have an Oceanic Geo 2.0 and an Oceanic Pro Plus 3. The ascent rate indicator in both are equally super-sensitive... to the point that I don't believe them. It's one of my few complaints with my Oceanic dive computers. It's rare that my Oceanic dive logs show a max ascent rate other than...
I did this for the first time last year with a now ex-girlfriend. We ended up doing local training and destination referral. Here's my experience:
-- Finding a dive shop. The class I wanted her to use was booked for the shop I wanted. So, I had to "interview" other shops as we were having...
Have you tried asking to the Dive Shop/instructors that certified you? Not that you won't get answers here... but you already have a relationship with them and it would be face-to-face versus the Internet. Unless, of course, you didn't have a good experience with them.
I have a Perdix (non-AI). I couldn't download my logs when I returned from a dive trip in October. Looks like the software can't detect/communicate with the bluetooth hardware. No problems downloading in the past. I haven't had the time to look into it further.
Experienced one at Columbia Deep in April 2016... we canceled the dive after 30 minutes right after we started experiencing the down current. It wasn't a strong down current but after it took me a couple of minutes to ascend 10 feet, I had to add air to my BCD to ascend at a normal rate.
The Turks and Caicos Aggressor II posted a video, in the last 24 hours, of their first charter since the storms. Here's the link to the video on facebook : Aggressor Fleet
Cheers,

I have a Geo 2.0. I have over 150 dives on it... my girlfriend uses it now, has 20 dives on it and she likes it as well. I have two issues with it though :
-- 1. The ascent rate monitor is not accurate. I think this is an Oceanic issue in general as my Oceanic Pro Plus 3 does the same...
This past April, during the day, there was a boat with at least one line in the water trolling clearly in the park. Our dive boat got between the boat fishing and the lure as their fishing line briefly got hung up on our boat. Happened pretty fast and I had forgotten about it until reading...
