Olympus TG-5 Underwater Camera and Housing Review

I bought this camera this year based on my dive buddy's recommendation (and his outstanding pics). Question though, is there any setting recommended for lake / green water diving? The underwater setting is clearly for ocean / blue water. I find myself diving fresh water quite a bit lately...

Thefts at Dutch Springs PA (Bethlehem)

I have only been diving at Dutch during the 2017 season and I have had two things stolen there - a computer puck, and some fin shapers. Just this past weekend, someone "lost" a GoPro but likely had it stolen. I keep hearing about how things are safe at Dutch, and yet that has not been my...

Lost GoPro session 5 at Dutch springs PA

Hey I talked to you about about putting this post up at Dutch Springs. I'm really hoping someone turns it in and it wasn't stolen. I have now had two things stolen there - and that really pisses me off that there are thieves in the SCUBA community at Dutch.

When is lemon shark migration in Jupiter?

I've seen them there most times of the year. I would avoid August though because that month it's all about the goliath groupers mating.

Wi-Fi reception in Guadalupe Island GWS live aboard?

Not everyone wants to be off the grid. My mother had emergency surgery this past week and it would have been better to have the ability to communicate vs not. Everyone's different.

Wi-Fi reception in Guadalupe Island GWS live aboard?

I was just on the Solmar V this week. Correct - no comms at all - wifi or phone. But...if you need to make an emergency phone call, we were told that it's $5 a minute (in cash) to the captain to use the satellite phone. Some of the crew have cell phone reception pretty far out (at least...

Lost a GoPro Session in Guadalupe Island

I know this is a long shot. But maybe years down the road someone will find it! I lost a GoPro Session in Guadalupe Island - in at least +250 ft/75 m of water on Aug 2017. For all I know a shark ate it. But...you never know. It's got video of the seals on shore and submersible cage...

    Night Diving as primary diving

Have done a couple of cave dives but not a lot of life. I love night diving mainly because of al the cool critters that come out to play. Still interested in cave diving for other reasons though... but that's another thread. Would love to know some of the blackwater spots in Canada!

    Night Diving as primary diving

I personally don't but another made the comment that it would be good to have one. Just offered myself up.

Dutch Springs - weight pocket w/weights

may 21 - found a weight pocket and about 8-10 weights inside by the driver's side of the VW bug. Left it there in case it was very recently lost.

    Night Diving as primary diving

Thanks for these suggestions - I will be looking into them. I'm very familiar with Bonaire, but not the other places you mentioned. I think I will have to end up coordinating something like that myself - agreed.

    Night Diving as primary diving

I think you're on to something here. I really think there is plenty to do night diving wise, and especially photography wise, I can easily fill a whole week of capturing the night critters. If I don't end up finding an outfit to do this with, I might organize my own buddy group - probably in...

    Night Diving as primary diving

I've been diving in Bonaire and Divi specifically. The only issue (a big one) is finding a dive buddy willing to do more than 1 or 2 night dives. I do solo night diving there because there's a lot to see in the shallows and I know the dive site well, but generally speaking solo+night is not...

    Night Diving as primary diving

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I would love to wake up around 4 or 5 PM and do an afternoon dive or two, have dinner and dive ALL night! YEAH! There's GOT to be more people like me in this big world. At least for a week, this would be awesome!

    What kind of Reef shark?

I second the lemon shark ID. That second dorsal is all that matters, not the teeth showing or not. I am also 99% it's a female.

    Dutch Springs

Hello, I'm also a weekend warrior, but I am looking for more buddies, so if ever you want a weekend/night dive buddy, let me know. I might also be around July 4th - a Tuesday.

    Night Diving as primary diving

I really prefer night diving to day diving. Would like to know if there are any liveaboards or dive shops that do more than 1 night dive per day. If a girl can dream, I'd love to a night dive-only trip / charter, or at least more night / blackwater dives than day. I thank you all in advance...

Jupiter diver in trauma center after ‘upper extremity’ injury

I personally don't go on those cattle boats anymore. Personal style that works for me. Of course, it's a generalization, but so many people have no idea what they're doing on those type of trips. It actually makes me nervous enough to just skip it altogether. The more you know the more you see...
