    Coulonge River update

Ok so I took the plunge and did a little tour of the river this weekend. I was really surprised and pleased with the conditions. The bottom is sandy/rocky and the vis was a nice 8-10ft and the water was very clear. Vis dropped off due to the tanic water but it was just dark outside the vis...

    Coulonge River info?

Hi folks, Just wondering if any of you have dove the Coulonge river in the Mansfield area? I have a cottage on it and I'm thinking about taking a dip this weekend to explore. Just curious if anyone has done it and what I might expect to run into vis wise. I'm also curious about the abundance of...

Freshwater bait ball from the surface? Or Ogopogo?

Very cool little vid of what we are assuming was a bait ball (minnows??). We had just finished the day out and were discussing it when a whirl pool about 2ft in diameter erupted about 20ft from one of the divers in the water. It maintained itself while traveling across nearly the entire length...

    First dives in Cozumel

Over the years I've kept hearing how great the diving in Cozumel is. Last week I finally got to experience it first hand and I can't believe it took me so long to go. Absolutely amazing conditions, the reefs are beautiful and teaming with life, and the operators/guides fantastic. Will definitely...

First dive of the season in the St Lawrence: The Henry C. Daryaw

Not a bad way to start the river season. The weather was perfect, the current ripping, and the whole thing to ourselves. After poking around we ending with a nice easy drift. ljtroIdu9Do

7 days without a smoke and feeling pretty dope

Never thought I'd be able to say that. Worst mistake of my teenage years but I think I've finally managed to say goodbye. After my spouse went 4 weeks after switching to an e-cig I decided to give it a try. I ended up smoking for a few weeks after getting it. It took a little to dial things in...

Hero4 Black and 2 Solas vs Dominican Caves

So last week was my very first trip to the Dominican Republic. Also my very first time shooting with the Hero4. I have to say, for such a tiny little package this little unit does surprisingly well. Unfortunately the cards I had on had were not up to 2.7k recording as I found out after the first...

Scooter run to the Welland bridge

Took a little run out to the bridge yesterday and captured some video. Considering the temp I was really hoping for better vis. DeQeJBrArj4

    Welland scuba park on Sat?

I think I'm going to head down to the park tomorrow for a little decompression therapy if anyone is interested in taking a dip. Probably around 9-10 or so.

Man I love diving Lock 21..

I really, really do. I've lost count of the number of times I've dove it. Not sure I could put into words just what it is about the site that appeals to me but I suspect if you've dove it, you'll know what I'm talking about. So when the dome port for my 8mm fish eye arrived late last week I just...

Sola 2500 F review, now with rich velvety shipwreck goodness (the SS wexford)

So it was time to replace my existing video lights. I'd been using a set of prototypes from Edge Dive Tech for about two years and while they had excellent run time and produced lots of light I just couldn't diffuse them enough to get rid of the really noticeable hot spots. They are clearly much...

Freaking sharks, is there anything they won't chew?

Shark attacks threaten Google's undersea Internet cables. (Video) Messing with my internet?? Not cool sharky, not cool :)

    Virtual Freshwater Aquarium

So on the last dive I set my little POV cam down a few times while I poked around the various sites. When I reviewed the footage later I discovered several fish had taken a keen interest in the new addition. Anyway here's 6 minutes of fish checking out the camera :) PkvvEFXAPNI

First try at a multi cam video

So for side mount dive #4 I opted for the the Welland park. One thing I've noticed is without the manifold, plate and bands I'm rather light now so this was primarily a weight check. However since I had about 1000psi to burn to get down low enough to test I figured I'd try bringing two cameras...

    2 Steel 72's

I have two 72's that are freshly hydroed and inspected (O2 clean) I use for side mount. Looking to replace them with a set of LP85's so sale or work a trade if interested. They have opposing valves so can be doubled up with bands and a manifold easily enough.
