I've said it before on here, I'd rather dive with clubs (group of people, elected officials ect.) than a LDS 'club' any day and I hope to see more clubs spring up in the future. Walked in to my LDS recently, turns out they don't sell finger spools.

Did it with a mate at 10m, we had both talked about if before hand and both ascended safely together. Not advised but we are only now getting old enough to recognise our own mortality!

Combined with getting more experience slowing down that ascent is also a good idea. Some people report that nitrox helps, the science isn't in but the theory does make sense and Mark Powel in his book 'deco for diver' does touch on it but only for about 2 sentences from memory.

On a side not I rekon this thread should be stickied and any new jacket V BP/W threads are just merged into it. Again I don't really understand the pockets argument, I've never seen a jacket with useful pockets as they are usually restricted by the bladder and integrated weights.

I'd agree Transpacs are tacticool, it also reminds me I've been wanting to order the harness! That purchase will be based entirely on "it looks cool" I don't really think there's anything wrong with that provided we are honest and upfront about why we are buying a piece of kit.
