    Green Force Dive Lights

Does anyone have any experience with Green Force dive lights? Green Force They have a "modular" system with HIDs, Halogens & LEDs. They seem sorta' pricey... Gotta' buy the battery pack, umbilical, handle, light head and charger seperately.

    Scuba Pro Mark 20

Just an update. Our dive team had a total of about 25 MK20's. Three of these developed cracks (one ruptured -- two had obvious cracks and would've). We replaced all of them with MK25's. They were serviced by an authorized SP dealer -- Dunno if they used a torque wrench... :06:

    Remembering Jackson V. Lone

It's been almost 3 months now since 39 year old Officer Jackson Lone of the Seattle Police Harbor Unit was killed in a strange, tragic accident while on duty. It seems strange to type this now -- it did happen a few months ago, and probably many of you heard about it already. But this forum...

    Scuba Pro Mark 20

I work in a public safety dive unit that has approximately 30 ScubaPro MK20's in service (all DIN's). Last week we had a catastrophic failure of one of our 1st stages. It cracked wide open -- just like the pictures on the Univ. Hawaii link below. We are replacing all our MK20's with MK25's...

    Acquiring SOP's

Seattle P.D. is revamping the SOP and Safe Practices Manual -- admin. is currently reviewing it. As for water conditions in Seattle, it is true there is a variety, but no real swift water (Duwamish River is the only real river) or ice (rare). As for contacting Seattle P.D., the above link is...

Mandatory Safety Stop for Training Dives

Large PS dive team. Is that vague enough for you? ;) Approx. 24 divers, closely supervised... Good point UP -- problem is, only 7 have been DIRF'd. We have some in influential positions adamantly opposed to DIR, and they seem to have the decision-makers' ears... If we continue to do...

Mandatory Safety Stop for Training Dives

Our team has recently adopted a rather rigid standard for safety stops. We are required to conduct a 5 minute stop at 15 feet on all dives. Though the intent is good, I feel this is ludicrous for the following reasons. 1) There is no consideration for depth or dive time. A 20' dive is...

Line to tie bolt snaps with

Cyanoacrylate: is that "Super Glue"? And these good tips after I just cut all my line off and zip tied my bolt snaps... ;)

    Evidence search

Well, needless to say, I (and I'm sure many others) hope you're successful and look forward to hearing from you here. If it's not found this time, I'd advocate a grid search... If you need to do additional searches, PM me and I'll bet I can get some volunteers from our shop to help. I need...

    Evidence search

I just got a call. Seems we are not going to dive there tomorrow after all. Chief said, "No." But you know how that is -- if you blame a superior (esp. one who's essentially inaccessible), no one can argue or blame you... That's 4 less divers for the team. Sorry Greg D. :frown:

You know it! It was beautiful -- water so clean I didn't need to rinse my gear! And a balmy 65 deg. F. as well! :D

Yes. That was a huge concern, but the "test" guns sat on top. I don't know how the other gun that was recovered was situated, but I think he said "part" of the gun was sticking up. I think because there's a real light current there, the silt didn't get too deep.

Yes. Not yet on the conviction. I think the recovered weapon is still speculation but I don't know. Conditions are 80'-100', light current, was good vis. (about 15'), silty bottom (but not soupy). Current seemed to be mostly in the mid and upper part of water column. Last time we had 14...

Descent speed -- does it matter?

So long as you and your buddy are comfortable, is a fast descent safe from a physiological standpoint? I rather like the flight down.

    Scubapro Classic Plus

Gotta' jump in here. I of course have my biases so here's my 2 cents worth. You either got a jacket BC or wings (using a drysuit for BC isn't an option for PSD). The lastest wiz bang jacket BC is still a jacket BC -- same concept different package. Our team uses a variety of jacket...

Show Cert (the hijacked cow and other topics)

This thread has turned to udder confusion! Though I'm glad I've found such a homoginized group sometime before I go to pasture. :D Sorry.

Show Cert (the hijacked cow and other topics)

Okay, if you must know it is a Rätien Gray -- a small, undemanding and robust tri-purpose breed (milk, meat, labor) that was spread over vast areas of the Eastern Alps. Kinda' cute, don't you think?! :05: That was a little sarcastic I suppose but the point is valid. In a forum like this we...

    Suggestion Show Cert

Wow. If I showed you a wallet full of credit cards, would you think I was qualified to advise you on financial matters? This is why we have discussion forums. People discuss. If so-and-so says something silly, the next guy will rebut, etc. Maybe we could require pictures that display a...
