    R4 post covid

Happy to provide tips after my third time there. Don't want to be accused of advertising though so pm me for details. But in general diving was better around the new moon and slack water. Liveaboard not necessary, most dive sites are 15 mins from Kri island which is paradise itself. Some sites...

    R4 post covid

So I have finished my trip and after a slow start I have to say I have had some of the best dives of my life in the last month, two of them being in my top dives I have ever done with 480 dives and trips to French Polynesia, Galapagos, Palau, Komodo, that is saying something. I couldn't speak...

Ear suddenly felt wet at 20 meters

Just felt inside my ear going wet, but no pain, strange sensation. Ears kind of cleared the next day but after an hour snorkeling they felt a bit congested the next morning, dove yesterday no problems diving or equalising, today I cannot equalise so I will stay out of the water until it...

Ear suddenly felt wet at 20 meters

So last night I had a very sore throat at times and woke up with slight ear discomfort left side, both ears felt slightly swimmers ear, no throat pain and dived late afternoon today, equalise fine without pain but all of a sudden my right ear felt wet at twenty meters, no pain, can still...

    R4 post covid

I'm still here, you can still have some mind-blowing dives if you get the timing right. Blue Magic has been effected by a fishing net and Cape Cri is not what it was but I have still had some epic dives on other sites. The big school of bumperhead parrot fish 50+ has been fished during covid...

    Wound in the tropics ?

Plenty more than that on the efficacy of sugar too. People should be allowed to say what they think as long as they are not abusive or rude, Anyway I hope this thread helps people as I'm sure it will.

    Raja Ampat tides

How many times have you been? I hope you are correct. I'm not suggesting anything, the locals have told me what has happened, sites not close to islands got hit at night time by "pirates" selling the fish on. The extent of this damage is perhaps debatable, I hope you are right in your...

    Raja Ampat tides

Did you think it was as spectacular as you have seen it before, I was here last time six years ago and it was much more action and fish.

    R4 post covid

Six dives into my diving at R4 and I have not been blown away yet. Something has felt a little off, worst fears confirmed as I've just been told R4 was hammered by pirates during covid. Time will tell how accurate that intel is but it seems to explain the current situation to me, anyone else...

    Wound in the tropics ?

Here we go again, I was very grateful the doc gave me advice, also not my fault if people are not aware of the power of other treatments, plenty of evidence to support the use of sugar. Also at the time all I had was sugar and betadine, nothing else at my disposal.
