    Malapascua trip report (Part 4)

Hey Makhno, Great trip report! Very detailed and descriptive. Thanks for taking the time to write this one up. I found the part about your tec dives the most interesting as I have never done any tec diving. It's definitely on the to-do list for the (hopefully not too distant) future now! ;)

Diving 'Seven Star Rock' (Qixingyan) in Taiwan

Hi Wantonmien, Glad you got the whitetip on a photo. Saw it, too - suddenly appearing between two rocks - but only for a second or two, and by the time I had swum through the rocks, the shark had already disappeared into the abyss :depressed:. Like you said, 'next time'. Have added a dozen or...

Diving 'Seven Star Rock' (Qixingyan) in Taiwan

Hi! For those interested, here is a link to UW photos from dives at Qixingyan, off of the southern tip of Taiwan. Qixingyan (七星岩), literally 'Seven Star Rock', lies off the coast of Pingtung County, Taiwan, in the Bashi Channel. It is an area composed of seven coral reefs. At low tide the...

Trip Report - Taiwan Green Island Hammerheads

Hi Centrals, What Paul said above is absolutely correct. Water temperature was about 25-26 C. I dived the whole week in my old, worn and torn 3 mm wetsuit with a 3 mm vest and a hood. This is not to say that I felt warm and balmy after the second or third dive of a day, but it's definitely...

Nudibranch ID of several species found in Taiwan waters

Thanks, Wantonmien, I'll try the NudiPixel link later or tomorrow. Have already tried the Sea Slug Forum - a similar website - yesterday, unfortunately not to much avail. Ambertiger suggested that I contact Neville Coleman in Australia directly regarding nudi No. 4 as he couldn't ID it...

Nudibranch ID of several species found in Taiwan waters

Hi, I have recently reviewed some of my nudibranch photos before uploading them to my photography website. However, I am not entirely sure of the ID of some of these nudibranchs and would appreciate it, if someone here on this forum could lend a helping hand in positively identifying these...

Trip Report - Taiwan Green Island Hammerheads

Oh, I almost forgot: I'll be down in Kenting on Mar. 19-20. Will be doing my EFR course with Andy on Mar. 19 (Sat.), so won't have time for fun dives that day, but plan on doing two boat dives on Sun. morning and an afternoon dive, ideally at Shan Hai. Come on down if you have time! T.

Trip Report - Taiwan Green Island Hammerheads

Wantonmien, Thanks for the encouraging words and the welcome. Of course you can pick my brains about UW-photography, the Beach Bar on Orchid is a great place for that! Looking forward to it. T.

Green Island Taiwan, Trip report 26~28 Feb 2011

It's a shame you didn't see 'the hammers' the second time 'round. Just goes to show how lucky we were in early February. I hope to see them again next year, too. They are awesome beasts! T.
