    Anyone wear ICE bracelets?

I was thinking of having one made for when I am diving and/or away from home. Something simple from here is what I had in mind. Do any of you have one of these? FYI - ICE = In Case of Emergency Bracelet would have family phone numbers on it.

    Nitek Battery Replacement

I have two Niteks that either do or should need battery replacement (unused for several years but still seem okay). Is dropping them off at the LDS the only option and, if so, what is it likely to cost? Actually, now that I think about it, they are OMS computers. They are just rebranded...

Who makes a low profile light weight STA?

I typically dive a Halcyon rig with a steel BP. I just picked up an AL plate to travel with and want to add an STA. Ideally I'd get one that is light and will not take up space in my luggage. Any recommendations?

Cost to media blast and coat a tank?

I just got a quote of $80 per cylinder to have some tanks blasted and ZRC coated. Is this a fair price? The shop is a large one and the gaffer claims this is fellow diver favor pricing.

What is your favorite tank for singles??

I was thinking about buying 1 or 2 tanks and am wondering what the prevailing preferences are. I can get a great deal on a couple of LP95's from Piranha Dive Manu. and am wondering how you divers feel about that (and other) tanks.

Explorer 40# vs. Evolve 40# - meaningful difference?

How substantial are the differences between these two wings? Are they such that someone new to doubles diving twin 72's would be able to appreciate?

Sizing A Drysuit - Having no luck

I stumbled on a super super hot deal a few years ago and bought a Dacor Drysuit. They discontinued the line and it was a left over. Unfortunately, I ended up with a Med/Lge as that was all that was left. It has never fit me right and I need to replace it. I just bought a used Whites Large...

Sizing a Drysuit - how much arm mobility is acceptable?

I have a really nice drysuit that is just a bit too small (M/L). I can dive with it, but it is tight between the shoulders and crotch and the neck seal leaks as a result when I move my neck and stretch the suit. I also have a new one (used size L different model diferent brand) I just got that...

Plz explain the math - HP single transfill to LP doubles

I am about to take my intro to tech class. I have a set of small steel 72's I am going to be learning on. I have just been reading about using an HP120 (or similar) to top off the doubles after a dive and am wondering about the math of it all. Assuming a straight fill at 2250PSI, I would...

    Using The Raider One

So, I was messing around with my new Raider I last night in the dark of night and found that while the light sock is a great way to hold and use the light, it seems to have one major issue. Turning the light on and off while it is in the sock is either VERY difficult or impossible. The sock is...

The Long Hose With A Jacket BC

I am transitioning to doubles and and will be learning to dive with a long hose. I will have a seperate set of regs for singles and plan to have it with a long hose as well, so that when I dive in my gear regardless of the number of tanks, it will be as consistent as possible. When I travel...

How often does a regulator NEED to be serviced?

I understand that a well used regulator should be serviced yearly. I also understand that it needs to be done to keep the warranty in effect. But what if you buy a used regulator (warranty now void) have it serviced and then use it two or three times a year. Is it really going to require...

    Learning Curve For Doubles

How steep is the learning curve for diving doubles? I bought a set of steel 72's a few years ago, had them viz'd and hydroed but have yet to dive them. I need to get my second reg sorted out and obtain a doubles wing, but beyond that, what is the best way to proceed?

    Sad Realization

I just got back from my first vacation in over a year with the sad realization that I really do not dive much anymore... :shakehead: My wife and 2 year old son went to Bermuda for the week and I went off at nap time one day for a two tank dive with the good folks at Triangle Diving. For...
