    License for water taxi.

Everyone should need a license to operate a vessel larger than 19 feet. That's my thought. Sea Ray owners should have a double course. Florida is amiss by allowing the wannabe super-yacht owners to operate the 50 foot cabin cruisers because they have the ability to write a check.

LeisurePro... Any other happy customers out there? (Like me!)

I have ordered many things from them. All were positive. Just know that many of their electronics are Grey Market. You WILL NOT get a warranty on them here. (ie. Aqua-Lung line - Suunto).

    Free Diving with Whale Sharks

Well he can hold his breath well. Ha ha. What a beautiful animal. I have encountered three of them in my life so far. One in the Mona Passage between Hispanola and Puerto Rico (hello to all my friends in Borinquen). We were on our way over to Isa Mona it surfaced near the boat as we were...

    Snorkeling Question

You do NOT need a license to snorkel in Florida - UNLESS you are planning on spearing something, then you'll need the fishing license. If you have on a mask, snorkel and fins and you are beyond a swimming area marker on any beach you are REQUIRED to have a dive flag to mark identify you out...

Best off shore shallow diving in Florida

If you go to Boca Raton, there is a great spot south of their Inlet. There is a small county park, South Inlet Park, costs about $5.00 to park for the day (I think). At this park you can swim out about 50 yards and there are artificial reefs of large rocks that were dumped about 5 years ago...

    OCSD Dive Roundup

Anybody have information whether this is taking place this year? I know last year was a little lite in teams and with further budget cuts I wonder. Blades this is probably directed more towards you. Thanks

    Full Face Mask

Great mask. Do NOT opt for the Ocean Reef. Let me explain briefly. First, they aren't rugged. They are fine for a recreational dive, but that's where we (the team) draw the line. Their service, or at least their salesman, who has by the way a territory of Florida and the entire...

IADRS Conference underway in Fairfax, VA

Good conference all around. The fitness book by Stew is a great addition to anyone, no matter your body type. I had the opportunity to speak with him at length regarding some of his training philosophies. I like his thought process on many fitness issues. One I agree strongly with is his...

    Vehicle Recovery

:coffee: If I'm not mistaken I helped out with this. Was this the canal on Lox Road? At least send a diver to determine there is nobody inside at a minimum, then make the call about pulling it out at night. Imagine this: J. Smith says he was alone when the car got pulled into the waters...

How much $$$$$$ do you make?

I dive at work. So the gear is free, mostly, some of it anyway, except for the stuff that I own that I borrowed from my wife's dive gear things or found on the bottom like weight belts.

Opinions Wanted... Which Would YOU Choose?

Well, when it comes to cruises, not only do you want a good dive but I'm sure you want a Great atmosphere aboard. I have found, along with many friends who cruise, that Carnival, while less expensive in general, also offers a less-than-optimum cruise experience and the amenities are not nearly...

    Underwater metal detecting

I was, before I scrolled down, going to leave a smart comment to the metal detectives. Take the rings and watches off. Too many times a treasure has been searched for only to find it on the wrist/hand. Scubawishes, if I was closer than thousands of miles I'd help out. Best of luck.

Hello, Welcome. IF you get any slack from the old-timers, just remember their old and have forgotten at one time they were only guppies too.

    Spearfishing from Shore, Florida

A Public Beach is defined as any beach that is available for the public to use, lounge, spend the day at if you will. Private beaches, most are, in front of condos etc. are defined by the Mean High Water tide line. In the morning look for the weed line that has been deposited on the sand. From...
