    Coolest/Most Unique "Finds" While Diving?

I was at Blue Heron Bridge and found this paper roll. Like butcher paper, rolled up to about the size of a rolled up t shirt. I started unrolling it, and a dollar bill floated out.. Before I could grab my camera and take a photo, a chicken head floats past! Continue unrolling and there were...

Question Storing Dive Gear in SE Florida

I keep mine inside, hanging up with space to dry. Depending on the time of year, I may rinse it in the shower, then let it mostly dry, then move it to another location. Summertime, gear gets rinsed outside, hung in the shade, and brought inside at night to finish drying. BTW, OdoBan is an...

    Another One Gone

Capt. Tony ran a tight ship. While I'm happy for his retirement, he was my go to when people asked for a good dive boat in the area.

    Fighting for Florida

those toxic chemicals travel south through the everglades into Florida Bay, and out to the reefs, causing corals to die, and and Florida Bay to have algae blooms.. The whole agriculture industry should be cut way back. But that ain't gonna happen any time soon. They are too strong and have...

wow., thank you so much for those kind words! I tend to agree with your assessment of why I am always cold when others are quite comfy... FYI I nicknamed myself "permafrost" for a reason...

    Fighting for Florida

Ahhh. So finning is illegal here in the US... But not in the Bahamas... Thus fins are imported. My guess after a quick Google search. Thanks searcaigh for bringing this to light. https://www.sharks.org/shark-finning-legislation

Ft Lauderdale / Pompano Beach Dive Thread

once the waters warm and weather a little more favorable, c'mon over! I avoid Datura. Generally I go further south. But to keep in line with this thread.. Deerfield beach, North of pier. Shallow, sometimes lots of turtles. South of pier near the end of the parking. It changes all the time...

Ft Lauderdale / Pompano Beach Dive Thread

ya'll are talking boat diving. Broward County also has some pretty decent beach diving as well. Now some may digress the health or color of the corals on beach dives, however, for the price of a tank of air and paid parking, it's worth a mention.

    Brass boltsnaps in salt water?

About 15 years ago I picked up a bunch of brass snaps on clearance from HD. Everyone told me I was wasting my money. I figured for $1 each, I could take a chance, and picked up a dozen or so. Still all are working great. Mainly salt water use, a fresh water rinse and I'm good to go!

    Fins rub my toes raw

I have the same problem if I kick a lot or multiple days diving. I have thin cotton socks under my booties that seemed to fix the issue. And bandaids.

Granted. Everyone is having a fantastic evening. I have a hot date with a guy who just so happens to be a scuba diver and has a yacht with a superb diving set up. Except your evening. You acquired a nasty rash on some body parts and all you can do is sit in a tub of calamine lotion. I wish I...
