    Fiji in 2024 suggestions needed

Hey all, Been reading all I can find about Fiji diving and the associated locations and resorts, but a lot of the info is pre-pandemic. For those who could give some recent advice, we are very experienced divers (two buddies that have been diving together for 30 years but we are not a couple)...

What's special about diving in Hawaii?

THIS ^^. Kauai was good, not great but I never made it to Ni'ihau. You can also go over to Lanai from Maui and dive in the cathedrals which are super cool lava caverns and also I thought the vis over by Lanai was stellar as was the back of Molokini. If you like turtles, Hawaii is your place.

Trip Report Cozumel April 15-29, 2023

We were introduced in February for the first time and were blown away! I couldn't stop eating the garlic shrimp...or the ceviche, or.... ;). Good to know about BA and the exchange rate. Going for a couple weeks in Oct so I'll bring my good ole USA bankwad this time. We had nutso currents in...

    air service from Cancun

Is Mayair back in operation again? They were MIA the last time I looked at options into CZM. We can go direct to cancun from LAX and jump over but I really don't like the bag drag personally so we have been really limited to AA.

Trip Report West Maui Shore Diving August 2022

I love Hawaii and have been going since the 80's with my now wife of 30 years. I have the least experience diving in Oahu and the most in Maui with Kona in the middle. Kona pluses are the manta night dive, variety of shore and boat diving and the sheer size of the island and reefs. Downsides...

Trip Report Bonaire Trip Report Captn Don's 7/11-7/19

Good call, the surface swim out to the buoy is one of the longer ones on the island. ;) the only reason i liked it as a boat dive. You can also enter at Angel City, swim straight out to the far reef and find the anchor chains and follow them in to the wreck, then follow the reef that the wreck...

Trip Report Bonaire Trip Report Captn Don's 7/11-7/19

I really have no idea! The ship pier is downtown, Don's is to the north, and the Hooker is a ways south of the airport. Don's boats were very nice, but I'm not sure how you would guarantee a certain site as they seem to pick where they are going randomly throughout the week. Bruce Bowker has...

Trip Report Bonaire Trip Report Captn Don's 7/11-7/19

I had not heard that pink beach was one of the ‘better’ dive sites, usually just beach goers and sunbathers there. Even the dive masters at Don’s were like ‘pink beach?, why?’. I was lured by this video, but if that mega school was there, I never found it. Lots of white sand was all we found...

Trip Report Bonaire Trip Report Captn Don's 7/11-7/19

LAX - ALT - BON July 11-19 Flights to Bonaire are expensive from LA. We paid extra for comfort +, luggage and seat selection which raised the price of the ticket to nearly $1,000. I can get from LA to Paris for less. Makes Bonaire a challenge to justify financially this trip. We stayed at...

Trip Report Bonaire - Capt Dons - May 28 to June 4

Great info. I'm hoping I can get to Rappel and La Dania via boat. Did this last trip with WannaDive and they were some of my favorite sites on the island. I'll be happy with anything just to be wet and warm.

Trip Report Bonaire - Capt Dons - May 28 to June 4

Heading there July for my first visit since 2013. Last time we stayed in an AirBnb off the water but came to Cptn Don's for multiple dives on cliff as well as pizza at RR. Decided to call it home base this visit and have one of the two bedroom units for me and my buddy. I really enjoyed the...

A Bit Late- 4k Video of our week in Coz. Oct 15-23

I've been going with a GoPro for 10 years (at first a very primitive version with an aftermarket dome lens to try and fix the fisheye problem and no light at all). This is the first time that I felt like I could convey at least SOME of the crazy colors that exist on those reefs and in those...

A Bit Late- 4k Video of our week in Coz. Oct 15-23

Most of it was once again learning to go SLOW and take my time to hold the shots and give the viewer the ability to digest what they are seeing. Really happy with the outcome this trip. The tray clips onto the BC and then has a bungee that allows it to stretch away for shooting, or clip in...

A Bit Late- 4k Video of our week in Coz. Oct 15-23

We had an amazing time back after a two year Covid break. The island was amazing as always. We pulled off 18 dives in 7 days but never felt rushed or exhausted! I know the nortes have been back, but we had flat seas and 85 degrees with light to no current. The people have had a rough go of...
