Recommendations for UK diving September 2025

Just to add, when you take the course, it’s another 25+ dives before you start to get comfortable diving dry.

Recommendations for UK diving September 2025

That really depends on where and the type of dives you’ve planned. On the South coast you could get away with it, if Scotland I suggest a drysuit (but do you know how to use one?).

    DIN vs YOKE (USA)?

I carry both DIN and Yoke for my 1st stage, plus the wrench to change them. I always make sure I can unscrew the unit before leaving home.

My descent into becoming a RAID instructor...

From the Raid website “Dive RAID International is registered as a company in the United Kingdom, and we are headquartered there. However, we have offices world-wide.” Though the site is dated 2023.

My descent into becoming a RAID instructor...

I find that interesting. I get told in Thialand the owner and CEO of RAID lives there, in the UK I've had the RAID CEO (based near Manchester) ask if they could merge with BSAC. Now there is a RAID CEO in the US. Some joined up organisation, not.

    ScubaBoard Invasion Central 2025 Belize

Dive log apps and computer compatibility

My old Suunto would record the number of dives, but the dive information was not kept for overwriten dives.

Dive log apps and computer compatibility

Sound like the computer is overwriting old dive data. My old Suunto would only keep the last 8 dives.

Suggestion Hookah/SNUBA/Recreational Surface Supplied Air Subforum?

I think a sub-forum would help to take these posts off the main stream.

That’s what we have the BSAC Altitude Change Table for, part of the BSAC level 1 to 4 88 Tables.

Getting mixed answers on Din connections? Thread depth

If the 7 thread is on you DV and the cylinder is 5 thread, no problem. Just make sure it’s seated properly. I’ve been diving this configuration for over 20 years. 5 thread DV and a 7 thread cylinder will never seat. That’s to stop 200/232bar equipment being fitted to a 300bar gas source.

    Belize and/or Cozumel+Tulum

As an alternative to moving between Mexico and Belize have you thought of 1 week in the Florida Keys than a week in Belize. That’s what I’m doing for the SB Invasion next month. Glasgow - Heathrow - Miami - week’s diving - Belize - week’s diving - Miami - Heathrow - Glasgow.

It was a surprise to hear of Angelo's passing. He was a welth of knowledge and experience which he willingly shared.

    Question for instructors!

Just because you instructor has been around for a long time doesn’t mean their teaching modern thinking, i.e. skills done with horizontal trim, not on knees.

    leak or condensation?

Do you use Silica gel sachets, or at least toilet paper to absorb moisture from the trapped air. Is the air dry where you close the housing. And don’t leave it in direct sunlight.
