I would not purchase those.
I did fairly extensive testing on the cheap Chinese batteries you can get from places like Deal Extreme and AliExpress and compared I found most have much smaller capacities than stated and from experience have seen them degrade at a rapid rate.
I could like you...
I was going to post basically this. Having dove with the man before this was my exact impression. We had a little joke going in the club about a "Carlos Dive" which was 20 minutes down then back up and then down again as we observed diving with him on the Sligo (We assumed it was a training...
There is a charter that runs out to the graveyard from Kingston. I am actually diving with them on Sunday weather permitting. Their website is Kingston Wreck Diving. We have had positive experiences with them though the the captain is quite cautious so if there is too much swell you will be...
Your best bet is to create a pressure transfer chamber sealed from the rest of the device. The easiest way would be to put a hole in the otter box, glue in a threaded pvc adaptor like this one: 435-003 - Spears 435-003 - 3/8" PVC Schedule 40 Female Adapter, and thread in whatever assembly you...
You should be able to find those fittings in Ti if you want to save weight. A company like swagelok might carry them or if you have the money do custom fittings.
The Mississauga club is doing some good dives this month. Brockville if enough people sign up and the Wexford maybe. Plus they should be diving the Sligo in Toronto Harbour soon.
Only downside to the club right now is the current leadership is moving into tech and we figure that will throw off...
I use the Dive Right pocket. I have also modified it to hold a knife. I use a steel (epoxy coated) plate as a back plate for the sheath and attached it to the side of the pocket. It works great.
Mine in a 7mm last summer was something like 16l/min. It is interesting since my father is a marathon runner with a resting heart rate of 50 and his worked out to be 18l/min though he was in a dry suit so that could make a difference (though I was freezing most dives so my HR was higher). I am...
Should not be too difficult, you just may need to settle on automatic or a pre-set shooting mode.
Those look like peizo switches, they are the best for underwater use, but most are expensive and some need driver circuits. It might be easier in that regard to have a micro-controller running the...
Well, I have a "funny" story actually. Funny in the sense that if one looks back at it you can laugh at the involved party's decision making process.
Note: I did not witness this but it was explained many many time to me (and the rest of the club).
Some of the divers in our local club were...
I've done it. It was not particularly fun, but in general if you are going under the ice you are not going as deep (obviously there are exceptions) so the suit should keep you warm. The only time I was cold (including sitting on the hole for 40 minutes) was after I got out. My zipper froze shut...
Just to chime in, standard is metric, the USA is pretty much the only country that uses Imperial. Some Canadian divers still use imperial, but that is mostly due to age or american influence. I would love to use bar for pressure, but my gauges are american and in PSI.
EDIT: I should mention that...
