    Boat captain encouraging wreck penetration

There's some slightly tighter and darker spots on the Chrisoula K, particularly the machinery space at the aft, the engine room and propshaft tunnel, if you go looking! :D

    Boat captain encouraging wreck penetration

Sounds like a proper dive brief and exactly what I would expect to hear - here in the UK at least. If you don't know that its not a great idea to get yourself inside of something when you don't know what you're doing, you've no business being on a dive boat without professional supervision imo...

Looking for a Liveaboard, Hurghada October 2017, recommendations sought please

Had a week with Blue O2 out of Hurghada earlier this month. Couldn't fault it!

Etiquette on carrying a knife during dives

I think you'll find that many divers routinely carry knives, but for the reason of freeing themselves should they become entangled in fishing line, for example. The likelihood of being attacked by a shark as a submerged diver really is very low. And my gut feeling would be that if you did get...

    DumpsterDiver emergency ascent from 180'

Getting bent for encroaching close to, or over, NDLs isn't a certainty. And even if bent, you can often be unbent. Not being able to breathe underwater once you have run out of gas is a certainty. And once drowned, you can't be undrowned. I'd say there's a significant difference.

    'Attaching' a hand-held primary light

That's what is putting me off this approach. I like changing hands now and again. My primary, whilst not uber expensive, also isn't a dirt cheap light. I'd quite like to do my best to keep hold of it. That said, I've not dropped it yet...

    'Attaching' a hand-held primary light

The colour thing was a little tongue in cheek, but thanks for the clarification :)

    DumpsterDiver emergency ascent from 180'

I was impressed that he even managed to unload his speargun early during the ascent. Shows good presence of mind!

    'Attaching' a hand-held primary light

Sounds promising. Would you recommend a colour for the bungee bracelet? Thanks for the responses so far folks, interesting :)

    'Attaching' a hand-held primary light

Hi Folks, I'm looking for some opinions on this topic. In the good old days of canister lights, whilst the head was usually worn with a goodman handle, it was also secured to the diver with the cord - preventing loss should the diver accidentally drop the head. In our brave new world of hand...

    Past NDL. And then this???

    I'm assuming the OP meant 4-8m/minute :)

JUST FOR GIRLS: Do you feel creeped out when...?

And so both men and women have the capability to understand what its like to be in uncomfortable situations. What's the difference? No, she wouldn't be 'womansplaining'. Her talking rubbish would have absolutely nothing to do with her gender. You aren't pointing out polarisation, you are...

    Advantages to Imperial units

True, its just that the rest of us have progressed some since 1972 ;)

    Advantages to Imperial units

Because ordering half a litre of beer just isn't the same! At least you get to order a litre of beer in Germany, I suppose...

JUST FOR GIRLS: Do you feel creeped out when...?

So is it 'womansplaining' when my wife comes and tells me everything I'm doing wrong when I'm fixing the car, even though she hasn't a clue? I mean, I know many women who can fix a car better than me, but because this one person happens to be a woman, I can refer to her cluelessness and...

JUST FOR GIRLS: Do you feel creeped out when...?

Ahhh, the 'mansplaining' makes an appearance. Always makes me laugh that people always jump to that one, inherently sexist, term when trying to combat perceived sexism in others. Way to go!

    Past NDL. And then this???

I think the discussion was born because the profile given by the OP's DC varies significantly to that predicted by something like subsurface.

    Past NDL. And then this???

DevonDiver has already pointed out, multiple times, that you can't compare the results of a dive using VPM or Buhlmann in Subsurface to that of a dive computer using a adaptive algorithm like RGBM. VPM/Buhlmann completely ignores many of the data artefacts that RGBM uses to significantly affect...
