@Mr Grinch @rfwoodvt Do either of you have a set of calipers? This isn’t the first person looking for these and if one of you can measure them fairly precisely, there’s no shortage of folks who could print replacements for the next person.
I’m a big fan of nylocks in most applications, but there may not be clearance for them; it appears the originals slip inside the sheath and have to be thin enough to leave room for the knife. (Which suggests users must regularly check tightness, but that’s a different issue.)
Don’t know...
Aqualung 42652 Squeezelock barnacle nut and bolt kit (1 ea)
You may find it easier to figure out the threading and see if someone can 3d print a nut holder.
Thumb down for Hawaiian Diving Adventures. Multiple answers in advance via email did not match ground truth; DMs who made errors that OWs shouldn’t. (Super-nice DMs, but super-nice isn’t the principal job qualification). (Late 2024, firsthand).
If you have to move a thing past another thing, sure. But once it’s in the right… location, scooting the… position a tiny bit shouldn’t be a big exercise; there should be enough slack to loosen, scoot, tighten.
He said “z-knife” so he probably means a line-cutter (e.g. Trilobite, Knives - Reels - Liftbags - Knives, Shears & Accessories - Z Knife - Northeast Scuba Supply Store) kind of thing; not much stab potential with those. I have one on my left-side waist strap, right around 1030; if I felt the...
:) I wish I had that kind of encyclopedic knowledge, but here’s what I did: fullscreen the video, then scrub around until I found a clear view with minimum background distractions. Then captured that and fed it to the Seek app. Presto.
Linne Lens (a similar app) identifies it as a Dragon...
Okay -- I spent some time this morning experimenting. Most of this will be specific to the Apple/Globalstar combo. I tested using an iPhone 16 Pro (A3083) and a DiveVolk SeaTouch 4 MAX PLUS.
You do for "real" use -- but numerous sources (and some experimentation) indicate that the test...
Should be warmer than you think; mid-70s in the harbor and the corridor. A 3mm full is usually enough even for multi-day; add a vest or a shorty over the 3mm full for some extra and avoid the whole hood question.
If she’s especially cold-sensitive, bring a 5mm full.
This. Figure this out...
I am away from my gear at present, but have been meaning to run exactly this test; if anyone has, please do report.
Remember that it doesn’t work anyplace they’ve decided it wont work. It’s not like a satphone that might sort of work at the edges of coverage and maybe you can reach...
What appears to be the OEM for the Apeks shorts sells them direct on Aliexpress, typically around USD80.
Currently available example: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256801507157084.html
There are also imitations for about half that if you just wanted to try something to see — but the (OEM)...

Hmm. Color me somewhat impressed.
I picked up a new mask yesterday, and wanted to see what the current thought was on prepping it. A quick search revealed a 1,021 post thread that looked interesting, but daunting.

I’ve been surprised at how happy I am with the DiveVolk housing, and (barring major phone geometry changes) it’s a cheap/free adapter change to adapt to a new phone model.
I dive my current phone and bring my (much) older phone as a just-in-case fallback.
