Again, trip reports aren't really my thing, but I wanted to at least report that I had a great trip on the CAIV. Food, crew, etc. was great as expected. We did 4 dives on GC and then made the crossing to LC and did 5 dives in LC (one night dive) before crossing over to CB for 2 dives on the...
Don't worry about it. Back in the day nobody passed fundies and there were no cards for it. I know times have changed, but back then you basically wallowed around in the quarry making mud angels trying to do whatever skills you were supposed to be doing or WWII dogfighting trying to avoid...
Trick question. Both dive plans are equally safe since I'll be sitting in my truck reading a paperback after pulling out the thumb and citing option number 1.
With the wealth of misinformation out there and the fact that positive reviews can just be purchased I think it's going to get tougher and tougher as time goes on to be able to differentiate the good ones from the bad ones based solely on online reviews. I usually just ask Dan since there's a...
I was kind of wondering why they hadn't reported that the wreck had been searched and no bodies were found and that's why the search was ongoing, but I naively assumed diving depths and had no idea she was so deep. They will need an ROV at this point from the sound of it.
I also bought one for my wife who is traveling overseas next week so I'll gather her feedback as well. One perspective from a business traveler and the other from a lazy bum going on a dive trip should make for a good sample.
That's also another drawback to the neck mount and forehead mount options. I didn't go there since I didn't figure a bitten off head scenario was likely to be survivable.
I was thinking about this and wondering if it might make sense to add a third for additional redundancy. Wearing one on each arm covers the most likely scenario that a shark bites one of your arms off. Arm gone, no problem, simply look at the other computer, finish your deco and get out clean...
What? You mean you don't bring all your chargers with you on every trip for redundancy? Also, depending on your girth, you might not be too far off from fashioning a Shearwater belt out of all those straps. If you are flexible enough a third waist mounted backup computer might actually not be...
This one was actually brand new and arrived DOA. The replacement doesn't have the LOW BAT TEMP error so fingers crossed. Getting two DOA ones would be unprecedented I think. My primary has been to Divetronix once for a battery drain issue and has been solid since then (knock on wood).
