We had our second ever meeting on Saturday April 19th at Buffalo Wild Wings in Fayetteville. I'm very pleased that we are seeing families show up. While we didn't really accomplish much in the way of business we did have an opportunity to get to know each other and share experiences.
We will...
It's off Indian creek as well... I'll get a good location for it... Apparently there is a school bus near the school house foundation in about 60' of water....
And it does indeed sound like a dive trip in the making.... Mjrob and coasterfreak... Can you guys make it to the dive club meeting on...
Hey my daughter had/has the same problem... she's 95 lbs and rail thin... I hate buying her and her brother wetsuits because they outgrow them but...you might check with Jim Butler at C&Js. At the end of the season he had a box full of random wetsuits and there were some hooded vests in...
I was hoping you or Tracy would reply... thanks for the clarification, I'm sure it's middle ear as he said it was behind the ear drum. I will definitly heed your advise and not wait for discomfort before equalizing... this isn't at all painful but it's definitly annoying!
I dove one of my favorite lakes last weekend and all week long I've felt like I had water in my ears, my hearing is kind of muffled and my ears pop when I swallow. I was thinking maybe I was getting an ear infection or something so before it got out of control and started hurting I decided to...
I would give a +1 for Night and Search and Recovery. I'd also say PPB as getting your trim and bouyancy dialed in not only makes diving more fun but it also will help with gas consumption and just makes you a better all around better diver. I kind of wish PPB was part of the OW course...
This may not be the right forum for this but I'm going to go ahead and post here anyway. Feel free to share this or direct me to post elsewhere.
I alway feel like it's important to tell people when a company I do business really does right by me. Scubapro definitly is one of those companies...
In the Army we had something called battle focused training which basically meant train as you will fight so we always tried to make training as realistic as possible within reason. The saying was "the more you sweat in training the less you bleed in combat" and to an extent it is very true...
Whole heartedly agree with Tracy and I would add that you may check to see if your LDS is willing to part with rental equipment. My LDS buys new rental gear every season and sells off the old at the end of the season. I wouldn't, however, consider purchasing ex-rental gear unless I knew that it...
Bubbales!! It was great meeting you as well. Needless to say I am a HUGE fan of Tenkiller now for all the same reasons Bill laid out... I had on a 7:5mm suit with a 7mm hood vest underneath and I barly felt the afore mentioned thermoclines... we get another warm day this fall and I say we go...
oh and one more thing... if you do decide SCUBA is for you... get your gear asap... you will find that you dive more often when it's your own gear. The best way to become a good, safe diver and dive buddy is to dive, dive and then dive some more!
That's both Hilarious and too true Jord!
As to the LDS Question. I would hold off buying anything beyond Mask Fins snorkel and booties until you finish the class so that you don't blow a bunch of cash on something you don't enjoy. I try to buy as much as I reasonably can from my LDS because I...
There is and according to the Corps of Engineers they don't mind if divers boat dive the ledges and they don't even mind if they drag gear on shore as long as they stay out the parking lot, bathrooms and picnic area.
I am stunned at this news. I will miss her gentle and well thought out guidance she had such a knack for providing. The diving community and SB has lost a genuine treasure. I hope I can aspire to be half the diver/coach/mentor that she was.
RIP Quero
I've been diving a Scubapro Glide Plus for 3 years now and I absolutely love it and will buy another (or whatever replaces it) when it comes time to replace
Cheers!
Steve
