Shearwater CanBUS board for making pressure pot?

Hello all! I have a Prism2 and find it kind of a pain to do o2 flush at 20ft. I flush it but still question, did I flush good enough? So I am thinking of building a pressure pot to test my cells. Making a pressure pot, I need to read the cells. I could use a microcontroller and ADC, I could...

Question Hollis Prism 2 - Advice & Tips

Hello! I have a Prism2! My friend (Hey stuartv!) noticed it here on Scubaboard at a decent price so I bought it. I was after the canbus shearwater controllers, and I could get local training. I had an Inspiration with Hammerhead upgrade kit that I bought before training and never could find an...

    Equipment Rebreather incident with narration

The water will pick up the lime in it and if you roll around it's possible to get it up to the mouthpiece? Dripping wet lime I would assume would loose scrubbing effectiveness, hypercapnia risk. Also the water can get on the o2 sensors and render those ineffective. Bail out.

Question Okay, what’s the latest on Juturna Springs in Maryland?

Wow, watched the video. That sucks. For those that didn't watch it: The property switched hands, and the new owners were willing to work with them. But there was someone who didn't want their activities there and apparently worked to cause issues to harm the relationship. Sounds like an...

Error Two wreck divers dead - Marsascala, Malta

Hello, my comment was in relation to having two mechanical valves before filling the bladder to prevent one from leaking. The double bladder wings are cool though, especially for ccr when it can go super negative if loop is flooded. When I was doing my CCR training, I had a rapid ascent from...

Error Two wreck divers dead - Marsascala, Malta

When it comes to bcd/wing inflators would it be better if the button was two half circles, each was a separate valve and you had to push em both down to inflate? Redundancy if you will? Or would same issues persist?

    New Diver--Washington DC area

Hello! There is a meetup.com group called the DC MD VA Scuba group or something. We have happy hours, and they have been doing a bunch of trips. I am going to try to do the pumpkin carving thing with them at Lake Phoenix in a few weeks.

I'm seeing a lot of second hand rebeathers sale recently, something going I'm not aware of, as I'm tempted to get one.

I just saw a $3k revo here in NoVA. Not divecan, no predator, no RMS. Just assume people are flushing out some of the toys. Economy is wonky and jobs are a little bit shaky.

Question Okay, what’s the latest on Juturna Springs in Maryland?

Sorry to hear. I backed a kickstarter some time ago and it ended in an apology wrapped around “It’s not going to happen.” I assume with Jururna the government got in the way / made it too difficult / slow rolling it.

Help finding info regarding rebreather diver seriously ill from unclean rebreather

There was a different case where someone breathed off of a bcd/wing that wasn’t clean and sterile. Bad enough it killed him! https://www.undercurrent.org/UCnow/dive_magazine/2011/EmergencyBreathing201106.html

Mike goes through the new Dive Talk Go

I have a C96 o2 unit and this kind of reminds me of it. I dig the evolution in the computers. Not sure I dig the counterlung setup. Could clean up the o2 hoses by moving to an integrated pushbutton type thing like c96 or LAR. Is o2 addition manual? Does the computer vibrate or buzz? Definitely...

Wanted Zeagle regulator plastic body (part/50d)

Hello, Plastic body on reg (50d non technical model?) cracked around hose thread. Leaks water. I assume service kits are still available for these (if not please advise!) Instead of tossing it, if someone has the plastic body minus other parts in their parts pile I’d be interested in buying...

Anyone know what the latest is with Juturna? Last I heard they were working on government issues and an older NSA plane was added. Anything new?

Question Scuba pro drysuit, stitching coming undone. Aquaseal it?

Hello all, I have a gently used scuba pro drysuit that I take a few times to the local freshwater quarry (Lake Phoenix, Va) a year. The stitching is starting to pull out around the wrists. I have trimmed it, but I dove it and more is coming out. Is this something where I should put some glue...

    Nearby Drysuit Rentals?

Very cool! Get to know them maybe they will rent you the suit after you establish relationship with them. I used to deal with them and LDC when I lived in Norfolk/VaBeach. Did some of my courses thru CBDC (which was Dive Quarters at the time.)
