    Old Wetsuit Disposal

Cutting thighs into strips (like calamari rings) make for good hoses retainers on cylinders.

Switching to doubles - Am I in a rush?

Hi Kyle, This is the Justin Bates that TraceMalin mentioned. Perhaps we could have a chat? I'm a Sidemount instructor as well if you have any interest. I can loan you a set of super easy to use LP50s, more suitable AL80s, HuP100, LP108, or LP120s. They all ride differently, but we can play in...

    Turks & Caicos seasons?

Jan-Mar mid to low 70s water temp. Short days, high season premium on lodging and airfare Apr-Sep high 70s by August, MOSQUITOES, long days, less crowded Oct-Dec Hurricanes possible, best prices if weather holds, still mellow, if not deserted Dive conditions are GREAT year round, vis is...

What are Your Favorite Side Mount Tanks?

LP50s with a cave fill, Slim 72s (just got mine!!!), 7" Faber LP85s if in tight stuff and deeper or longer, LP95s for the rest. I usually add stages beyond that, or go backmount. Really, dive what you have access to! The 7" Faber LP85 is probably the most universally loved.

    Turks and Caicos Dive Operator

Dive Provo always a good stand-by. Tremendous props for the Lionfish culling program. Mickey and Jane are TOPS, but often full. Big Blue offers so many great things as well and should not be overlooked.

WTB: ScubaPro 71.4 cu' "Slim 72"

These were 3000 psi steel tanks from the late 80's to early 90's. The 6" diameter was the give away. 25-26" tall. THANKS!!! :D

    Question for cave certfied DMs

Enroll them in a cavern class! Not a Cavern or Cave instructor, then don't even think about it!!! Liability of course is huge, but really this is a matter of RISK to ALL.

Do you/would you fly with an 19hr surface interval?

I have a buddy that no matter what profile he dives (air, no O2 etc) he won't leave the water till his average depth is equal to 20.5' or less. If one were concerned, there is a way to calculate M values etc to get a better mathematical rather than anecdotal picture.

Plastic snap bolts for travel kit

For me, AL plate, any small wing (DR Travel or Venture), and Miflex hoses on a DR Hurricane RG3500 (VERY light and reliable, great breather and parts kits are easy). Light Monkey/Salvo Rat Jr lights save weight. Scouts with no batteries work too. Also will bring my Armadillo and three RG3500s if...

Do you/would you fly with an 19hr surface interval?

There are a lot of great suggestions in this thread on how to mitigate your risk. Ascent rate is the most critical of all the factors here. HANG out at 20 feet for a while at the end of your dives, and SLOWLY ascend from there. How deep?

Lift question: Will I experience a horrible death?

But, how much buoyancy loss will you experience at the depth you plan (including accidentally exceeding planned depth) due to the compression of your neoprene? Not that it's beyond what you can likely swim up, ask yourself that question wherever calculating exposure and lift requirements, and...

    Tank ID Help

SS, you sure about that? Last I checked, EU etc was liquid volume in Litres, and US/CA were gas volume at working pressure. AL80 has "80" (77.4) cubic feet at the working pressure of 3000psi here...
