    Brass boltsnaps in salt water?

About 15 years ago I picked up a bunch of brass snaps on clearance from HD. Everyone told me I was wasting my money. I figured for $1 each, I could take a chance, and picked up a dozen or so. Still all are working great. Mainly salt water use, a fresh water rinse and I'm good to go!

    Fins rub my toes raw

I have the same problem if I kick a lot or multiple days diving. I have thin cotton socks under my booties that seemed to fix the issue. And bandaids.

    Corrupt-a-Wish

Granted. Everyone is having a fantastic evening. I have a hot date with a guy who just so happens to be a scuba diver and has a yacht with a superb diving set up. Except your evening. You acquired a nasty rash on some body parts and all you can do is sit in a tub of calamine lotion. I wish I...

BRRRR.... If I lived on the west coast and were considering driving over. I would consider a few things: 1. Late afternoon high tides means you'll probably be getting out in the dark 🥶 🥶 2. It's a bit chilly. Saturday morning temps are in the falling iguana range 3. Sunday will only be...

TG photos, Show us what you shot.

A trip to Blue Heron Bridge on Sunday. The striated froggie is located in about 3ft of water, where lots of people enter the water. How it doesn't get trampled is baffling. I got this one shot off in a break from the low vis from people putting on fins and milling around. Found this less...

@Pipehorse Me thinks you are spot on with the analogy of Birding at the wetlands and diving at BHB!!! So true!!! And those $15K cameras do not guarantee good photography, above or below water!

Info Florida Trip from Miami to Key West - January 2025

Thanks for the trip reports! Walter used to be very active in the Florida Forums. Don't know if he even dives anymore.. anyways, he was always a stickler for grammatical errors/omissions, etc.. When somebody said Largo, he would say that is on the west coast, south of Tampa.. If you want to...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls III

Hey @Pipehorse have been wondering where you were! Haven't seen you post in a long time! Glad to know you're OK! It appears to be that the trend of most divers I know, when not diving, or unable to dive (weather, physical, etc) then birding is the next best thing! Wakodahatchee and Green Cay...

I wore my 5mm with sharkskin vest, double hoods, and got cold. I also got 169 min..at 73° degrees. (Dang, I miss the degree shortcut.. ALT+0176). Found the two pipefish and striated froggie within the first 6 minutes.. not bad! I didn't get good shots, too much particulate in the water thanks to...
