one of the dive centres in thailand tried to sell me the master scuba diver card a few years ago, needless to say i passed on the offer, i knew nothing of it and when explained i thought it totally pointless, plus i am a very humble man and did not fancy flashing some card i had paid for...

Online dive shop, buy online diving, snorkeling & swimming equipment is pretty cheap.

although i dont mind carrying my own gear, i have dived at 3 centres in the philippines and ALL have carried my gear without me requesting any assistance. i think from the centres point of view it makes more sense to get the gear on the boat and get going as quick as possible.

i stay at the citystate tower and have done for a few years, the newer rooms in the recently built annexe are well worth the 2200p as opposed to the 1500p cheap rooms, i always have a stroll over to robinsons for a meal and movie and occasionally the odd peep into the LA cafe, i hated manila...

i stayed at big apple in november, paid 1100p for a reasonable room, but next time i would certainly splash out on the newer 2000p rooms overlooking the pool, the dive centre was very easy going and friendly, 1100p per dive or 3000p for 2 dives at verde including lunch. yes i will be back.

i live about 3 miles from eccy delph, cant believe i have never dived in it though, i used to swim in it a lot as a kid, will deffo have a bash this summer (if it ever comes) :cool2:

a little assistance from the boat boys would be nice, i am more than capable of carrying my own gear but when there is a load of open water student backpackers falling all over the place cos your having to cross 2 boats it starts to get a bit chaotic.
