Loving the 1000 hrs departure. Many of us do not live in Jupiter and drive the road a bit to get there. My last move I even picked the place at the south end of the County so it would be closer to the diving grounds. Is the boat going to the deeper dives? It would seem there is a market for...
Looking forward to the Friday the 8th. Dives were as reported to add several HUGE lionfish on the deep ledge and a Large Green moray free swimming on dive 2.
Slater has a Newton doesn't he? I like them as dive boats. Not sure what state of the art is but they are roomy, set up to dive out of from when they lay the keel. Easy on and off. Plus I believe he was on the Blue Tang before and they have a great reputation. I have not dove with him but I...
JDC for me. Huge , Gianourmous banked nitrox. Shop has proper DIR gear should I lose or break something. The boat is always right there at surfacing and hits my outstretched hand with the ladder. On a good day I jump off, sink right to the ledge. Use my fins as rudders and come uo to the boat...
Depending on the money you have avaliable the keys is awesome diving but I can not afford trips there lime I used to. For a nice get away I go to lauderdale by the sea and shore dice there. The local hotels have noce deals and it is walking distance to the diving as well as the outdoor eateries.
So my daddy told me a story once. He was in the USN in the PI. He got into trouble and given kitchen duty. He was ordered to go get a pea splitter as todays soup is split pea soup. My dad asked around the base.. nope no pea splitters there so he went to motor pool signed out a jeep under...
With my steel plate and steel tanks I sink a full 7mm no problem. If I was to add wieght with other rigs I use a 4# block wieght on my waist strap secured with a extra buckle. I was using the wieght pouches but stopped using them as I just never need to add that much wieght. Even in alum 80...
I do not have the experience and knowledge of many posting here but in my personal experience on that specific boat I would not call it "very stable". Years ago I specifically remember being out on it and having just stowed my gear I used a small bungee to fasten my bag to the support rail of...
I went with the AL 40. Slung it floats fine and is really easy to manage. The 19 seems fine for most diving I do however since I can use the 40 for so much more I use them for everything.
I do not live in Orlando. I live 35 miles North of Jupiter.

The warm 80's degree water has returned I am told. The cold water only came to visit on my diving days and since I am working the next 13 days in...
with the Zero to Hero DM's I have seen at some outfits they are confused as to how much Gas you have in say a 120 let alone any type of doubles or twins.
I do not know of any strong winds. It sure was odd.
To the ice diver -- I moved here on purpose. I hate the cold. Apparently I need to get closer to the Keys.
Watsr spots is no big deal as you use some sort of defog before using. I like the walmart clothes stand. Any center rod I have ever used comes crashing down in the middle of the night causing me a late night adreline rush.
I of course have seen cold water upwellings. I have seen 68 in July. I have seen it come and go in one day here at Fort Pierce shore/ kayak diving. I just have never personally seen one at 51f hit overnight like that. It is uncommon enough I personally have not seen it in my 30 years of...
What the Fudge!?! It is October and it was 51F Degrees on the bottom in Jupiter today! This is a new personal record for me which I have no intention of breaking. Normally I bail at 68F -- Is this the end of the world climate change where heliocopters fuel lines freeze and fall from the sky...
