    Advise for Rescue Diver Course

My wife and I have started the Rescue Diver Course. The issue she is having related to “Over-Thinking” (and stressing about) the up-coming Pool and Open-Water drills. Does anyone have any advice to help reduce her “Over-Thinking” and hence stress. Thank you

Beechdiver, I was looking at prices, and was surprised how much the overall price drops when you bundle the air with lodging (as njones indicated). Paul

One of the great things about ScubaBoard is the “free flow” of information and opinions. Here’s my opinion, and everyone can “take it”, or “flush it” it’s up to you. :mooner: Some of the best instructors have had to work through issues or...

Conquered Some Fears and First Shore Dive

Mask and Reg issues are normally at the top of stressor for new divers. I would have assumed (OK laugh now) someone working toward their DM would have gotten through those beginner stressors. As part of my OW class, we were required to remove our masks and swim around, swap with someone, and...

Conquered Some Fears and First Shore Dive

Lauire, It's always good to work on skill that need to be improved. I was a bit surprised to see you did it while doing a solo dive from a dive boat. When we are working on skills, it's always better to have a buddy there to "spot" us.

    Screws and diving

Sorry to hear about the accident. The big question relates to the body and the addition of metal, and possible impacts to diving. Personal experience: none what so ever. I have screws, and two artificial knees. Once her doctor clears her, she should be good to go.

The body is like “Nature” :D Renewable, as long as it not over abused. :shakehead: Unfortunately, we tend to over abuse our bodies, way too much. :shocked2:

    1st day in the pool...Yikes!

The key to learning “ANY” new skill is “Desire”, “Proper Instruction” and “Practice”. I have to assume you have the first two, the third you will have to work at. Some individuals take to new skills, as if they have been doing them their entire...
