Yup. There’s a time and a place for a snorkel. It doesn’t take that many dives in different locations and different types of conditions to run into a scenario where it would have been nice to have one.
Smart move, OP. I once drove five hours for a dive trip, got sick on the way down (food poisoning), was in no shape to dive the next morning, and spent the whole next day sick in the hotel room. I didn’t leave the room until the following day. I felt well enough to head home, but not well enough...
If you show up to the dock for a shark cage dive and the boat and cage look like they haven’t been serviced since the Kennedy administration, are you REALLY going to get on the boat?
Do you REALLY think those cylinders and regulators have been serviced recently?
Realistic events given those...
I learned long ago to not try and keep track of the cost of a hobby if I want to enjoy it. Stay in budget, but otherwise…I don’t want to know. I.e. Just paid for a hydro + O2 clean + Nitrox fill for a cylinder today. I don’t want to think about the fact that I’ll be paying that much…times...
Ok. I find it amusing that you chose to ignore the first sentence of the piece that you linked to (below)…which LITERALLY says EXACTLY what I did.
“ New data was released by the CDC last week showing that vaccinated people infected with the delta variant carry viral loads similar to those of...
By “spread it just as effectively,” I mean that if you are one of the rare breakthrough cases, your viral load can be just as high as someone that isn’t vaccinated (despite you not having symptoms), so you can spread it just as easily as someone that isn’t vaccinated.
Agreed.
That doesn’t surprise me. In my case though, if I went with the 3.6, I’d probably be getting the very bottom end of the possible fuel economy out of that, too…which would put that at ~20 MPG.
Not saying to not take it seriously (I commend you for taking it seriously), but if you’re vaccinated…the breakthrough infection rate is EXTREMELY low. Like a fraction of one percent.
The REAL issue (from a vaccination standpoint) is that you aren’t fully protected until 2-3 weeks post 2nd...
This is my first vehicle with a CVT. While I admit that it can seem a bit twitchy on occasion, it doesn’t take away from the overall appeal of the car to me.
That being said… If Subaru threw the STI engine in an Outback and put a 6 speed manual in it, I’d be like “shut up and take my money.”...
I don’t mind the power of the 2.5. I am a bit surprised about the fuel economy though. My driving is mostly city/around town or going ~75 MPH on the interstate, so I get ~26 MPG. If I realized it was going to be that bad, I might have just gone with the 3.6.
I can’t say that I’ve ever operated...
Still enjoying the Outback. Finally got around to installing a hitch this week.
For those of you that tow with an Outback, did you need a drop, straight bar, or a rise? Will likely just use U-Haul trailers for now.
Sent that picture to my Dad. He was like “what happened?!?!”:rofl3:
I like...
I’ll just throw out there that in my short time diving (three years and 61 dives), I’ve received multiple tanks that were off by a lot (5% or more). I.e. Asked for 30% and got 40%, asked for 32% and received 25%, etc. You do you, but I’ll continue testing my tanks.
I’d like a pair of HP120’s at some point. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a deal on used ones. I can’t say that I’ve seen any pop-up locally that weren’t pretty steep.
These will absolutely be overkill for 95%+ of my dives. The only reason that I’m going to do this is that they’re going to be cheap ($100/each), it’s an easy way to get ahold of two more steel tanks, and I know they’re been serviced properly (my friend is meticulous).
The diameter is really the...
The pair in question are by PST. They’re in hydro, but one needs a Vis. For the price that I’ll be taking them off his hands, I’ll just go ahead and buy them and see what I think of them. Looking forward to checking them out the next time we’re able to get out for some dives.
