i did the southern tour (which started in marsa alam) a few years ago and it was a blast!. great diving throughout. enjoy your trip.
i totally agree with the bp/w recommendations. i personally started off with a recreational bc.... went through some upgrades and finally reached the point i should have started with (hindsight is always 20/20). i have a steel bp for local diving and an aluminum for travel.
the video is good but it did not work for me this way.
i used a flat screwdriver and bent the inner latch of the brass holding until it broke. then i was able to remove remaining part by just pulling it out.
since the bungees come with all new fastening material i couldn't care less braking...
remember that air volume is getting compressed the deeper you go. thus, lift is being reduced. as a result you have to add air to your bc on descent and vent air on ascent (air volume expands) to maintain neutral buoyancy. compression of your wetsuit and change in water temp also play a role but...
i really liked diving molokini but imho it does not come close to diving the red sea. no offense.
also, unless the depth of 140 fsw was accidental bounce (**** happens) i would clearly question the operator. i don't think that 25 dives enable you to make a qualified judgement on the risk you...
i saw one in new jersey waters two years ago. water tems were ~50 dF on the surface. unfortunately, it was after finishing the dive, i.e. no underwater encounter...
