A custom drysuit and a steel backplate/wing set-up like my husband's. =] He is the guinea pig, we get him the toys/tools first and if they're to our liking then I'll get one.
I chose the yellow hi-viz Twin Jets for their slightly positive bouyancy and their form fitting soft material. Scubapro says they are similar to the Graphite Twin Jets but made from a different material. I really like them. I mean really REALLY like them.
Just received a schedule update and it looks as if MightyScuba and I will be able to drive over to meet ya'll Friday afternoon. =] But you can give my portion of shrimp away anyway since I'm sadly allergic. So sad!
See ya'll later!
Yikes! We don't want to have so many of your plans buggered so soon! We have one Non-smoking guest room (with one queen size bed) and guest bathroom (hot showers and fluffy towels) that we would be most happy to have filled Friday and Saturday and even Sunday night. We live about 20 miles from...
We spent the morning and noon today (Thursday) diving Lake Travis and just wanted to let everyone know that the water temperature (73 @35ft) is very comfortable with a 3mm wetsuit. I get cold easily and even below 30 i didn't feel the thermocline yet. The lake level is low and visibility was...
I'll be able to tell you Thursday after we get back from diving/testing my Niterider HID against my husbands Halcyon HID. We're looking forward to the comparison.
I was so tired of being a computer game widow so I figured the only way to get Brad (MightyScuba) away from the computer was to offer him something completely different and interesting to do. I figured he'd prefer water to air (sky diving, hang gliding...) so I spent a day doing research on the...
I recently purchased a yoke to DIN adapter for my Zeagle Flathead VI so I can use it with the HP80 I ordered as well as rental tanks and it was under $40 from my LDS.
Would there be someone who will be at the Memorial Weekend gathering that would be willing to spend some time hands-on tutoring me to improve my bouyancy and trim, please? I could really use someone to physically put me into the proper horizontal trim so I'll know my aim. Without a mirror in the...
We plan on attending (not camping though) the gathering over memorial weekend. I'm sure I'll be easy to spot, I'll be wearing my Diving Dress. :D We both look forward to meeting fellow divers and learning from you all.
I never knew that you wore a hood for anything other than protection from the cold so I guess I learned something new. I just finished placing an order for head protection. Okay, and ANOTHER wetsuit! Why wasn't I warned when I signed up for diving that it would lead to uncontrollable desires for...
Hi ya'll! I FINALLY got to take my OW certification dive yesterday at Windy Point after waiting an entire month for my BC to be made and to arrive. I also was able to use my own new reg. I found much to surprise me and discovered that you can yell/yelp quite well into your regulator!:D
First...
Well, I spent all yesterday and this morning in the water (Lake Travis in Austin) trying out my new equipment. My BC is the Zeagle Zena that they made for me in XS. I thought I'd share my thoughts on it.
OH MY GOSH is this BC comfortable! It fits like a bodice and feels great! Almost like...
welcome from two other fellow Dive World happy customers! Brad and I also took our OW certification through them. I'm sure we'll be bumping into each other in no time either at the shop or the lake. :)
haha! Great husbands think alike I guess! The high vis yellow Twin Jets are indeed what was ordered for me and for the same reasons. :) Can't wait until they get here. Thanks!
I just returned from my LDS where I tried out 4 different fins in their pool to find the pair that was kindest to my ankles, fit my feet (flat;no instep;6.5womens shoe), and ease of donning and doffing. Here's what I found.
The Mares Volos were very neat looking but sadly they were the...
Thanks DivingDoc! I took your suggestion and I just came back from my LDS where I tried the following fins in their pool.
The Mares Volos were very neat looking but sadly they were the hardest on my ankles.
The Original Force Fins were also too hard and dislocated my ankles though I loved...
