Take it up with the poster. I quoted it as it was written.
At any rate, the point is that there will be detractors to anything that isn't standard.
I still read it to mean that if you need this, you should probably not be diving. It is common to see such comments.
I think I might just put...
"Do you really think that people who are unable to put on they're own fins should be diving otherwise un-assisted in the ocean? That's crazy."
If you put it in full context.....
I expected the comment about people who are unable to put their fins on should not be diving.
Some one like that doesn't consider the idea that there might be a legitimate reason.
I guess if you have fused vertebrae limiting movement in your lower back must qualify? I wonder why that is. It...
Great report!!
I had similar experiences to yours. I went 2 years ago with a group and had 10 days and 37 dives for the same price as the 7 day package.
The report you did was one of the best trip reports I have ever had the pleasure to read. Thanks.
My spit doesn't work to defog most of the time.
I would be more concerned about having a bottle of baby shampoo around for 2 or 3 years and getting contaminated. I Don't get the chance to dive that often and find the small bottles of defog last long enough for me, not a huge expense in the big...
I was at the annual big sale at the scuba store I go to. I got a few minutes to talk to the Scubapro Rep. I asked him what was up with the subgravity computer. He seemed surprised that I knew that Scubapro had bought Subgravity.
He said that the computer will come out at DEMA in November...
The shop I use had their annual May Sale today. I spoke to the Oceanic rep about this. He said that the Data Mask is dead. He doesn't look for it to make a comeback.
With 3 vertebrae fused in my lower back, mobility is limited. Spring straps help a lot. These look interesting and look like they would be helpful in getting fins on and off.
As others have said. It is a bit of a hike to get there. I might go there on occasion but round trip is a bit over 7 hours. Doable in a day but still +/- 500 miles is quite a bit of driving.
I wouldn't postpone a trip because of Zika.
The threat of malaria, dengue and other mosquito borne diseases have existed in many places without problems. Just use proper methods for prevention and enjoy the trip.
Drat. I was just notified by my LDS from Oceanic that my Datamask is not currently servicable. Not that there is anything wrong with it. It says they are trying to locate suitable parts but they might not be available for a year or so. Not that I expect it needing serviced. They did offer me a...
