How do I overcome seasickness on boat dives without medication?

As Johndiver999 said, sea sickness generally is a result of a discrepancy between what your inner ears are telling you is going on and what your eyes are seeing. Anytime I get a subconscious inkling of sea sickness, I reflexively get up and move around, I like to hang onto to something over...

    Curacao, Cayman, Turks

The order of your post if price is a concern. Otherwise, I would suggest Little Cayman Beach Resort (never been but have heard nothing but good things about them), for a week and a couple of days on Grand Cayman to make the travel easier.

    Regulator mouthpieces

Replacing the mouth piece would not qualify as a modification in my book. Just order several different types from an online store. Pop them in your mouth while driving the car or jogging or something. Which ever takes the least damage is probably the best one for you.

    Daydreaming of Curacao

How about at night? We saw quite a few big fat ones on night dives back in 2020.

    A new normal...

Get low dose edibles made with Indica Strain extracts. Indica is supposed to be the Body High strain. This is of course all second hand knowledge, as I have no personal experience since I have no med card and it is otherwise verboten in the enlightened state of Pennsylvania.

    Diving Bonaire's Salt Pier (video)

Some really nice shots in there, you should consider a shallow water red filter for the wide angle long shots. They really do help with the "washed out pale blue" look you get when there is a a lot of sand in the frame.

    Orca attacking whale sharks

Isn't there an animal planet TV show based on that premise? Maybe the Orca are watching? I blame Willy, sharing all those bad habits and ideas he picked up in captivity.

    Bonaire once-in-a-lifetime vacation

Honestly, I love Bonaire, but everything I love about it is kinda the opposite of over the top luxury vacations. For me the ultimate luxury dive vacation would be a crewed private charter in the Indo-Pacific region. A sailing/power cat in the 20-25 meter range.

Suggestion Exclude “The Pub” from new posts

The pub is a rocky place where your seed can find no purchase. It is a foul wasteland inhabited by the worst sorts of trolls and other miscreants. They shower their bitter bile upon all who enter. It's also a fun place for thick skinned individuals who like to engage in "good natured" ribbing.

American Airlines’ Saturday departure time is changing

1:40 doesn't leave any time for errors. Take off a little late, hit a head wind or have to go around some bad weather you could be sleeping in the airport.

    Traveling on a budget

Pilling on to Curacao, there are some beautiful beaches with shore dives, and on site dive shops, restaraunts, lounge chairs etc. If the non divers are good swimmers they can even snorkel above you as you and your buddy dive.

    Captain Dons Habitat - Bonaire

Our first trip to Bonaire, we did not rent a truck, we stayed at Buddy's did three boat dives a day and the house reef 6 or 8 times. We were still very new to diving (20-30 dives) 20 something DINKs. Second trip a couple years later, all truck no boat. In the years since, mainly truck with a...

Compact or APSC? Any suggestions are welcome

This may seem extremely heretical, but it's something I have suggested to others in the past. Start with film, it is not at all forgiving and forces you to internalize concepts and plan shots as well as dives. Also, it is really cheap to get started these days. And it will get you instant cred...

Compact or APSC? Any suggestions are welcome

So the wide full ship you are looking at available light, a strobe will only illuminate the particulates inbetween. Sensor noise will be really important as you will be pushing shutter speeds to eliminate blur. Inside when you're 4 to 6 feet away it's less important, a good strobe will dominate...
