    Turks and Caicos

Only problem with Provo is that dive sites are about 45 mins boat ride away. Stunning and unforgettable diving with Big Blue, which specializes in small groups (8-10 max) and personal service. Smitty from C.I. diving on Grand Turk is by far the most accomodating, friendly and easy going DM...

    Suggestions for topside pocket digicam

I have done loads of research on digital point and shoot cameras and I finally settled on the Panasonic Lumix. It is the best point and shoot camera in terms of image quality, battery life, and portability. It uses a Leica DC lens, which is why the image quality is so good. Best part is that...

    Baby Lies....

Whenever I need a good excuse, I always turn to: http://phobialist.com/ A few goodies that your lady could have suddenly developed: Selachophobia- Fear of sharks. (It was Shark week last week, so maybe....) Soteriophobia - Fear of dependence on others. (unless she's a solo diver of course)...

Visayas in September - Is it fine?

Diving conditions all depend on what side of the island you are on. The two main wind patterns in the Philippines are the habagat, or southwest monsoon, which blows from June to September, and the amihan, or northeast monsoon, which prevails from October to April. So, you should get decent...

    Losing interest in Shark Week

You're welcome and thanks to everyone who writes in and spreads the word to all other boards and members. Wow, imagine if we actually affected a network programming change next year?!

    Losing interest in Shark Week

Instead of *****ing about it on this board or tuning out because it's the same old reruns, why doesn't everyone write Discovery to complain. I did, but one voice doesn't count a whole lot these days. http://extweb.discovery.com/viewerrelations

Aqua Lung Titan - Bubbles Going Passed Eyes

I own an older Micra, which was the first model to have that "problem". I see it as a result of having a smaller profile exhaust (where the bubbles come out) as welll as these new low profile masks. However, you will always see bubbles if you are vertical, rather than horizontal. If you are a...

Aqualung Legend ACD vs Legend LX ACD

For that price, you should get a partial refund (or credit on other gear) or send it back and get the LX installed. As far as the adjustable flow, I make adjustments depending on the dive profile/depth.

Patojo's Dive in Belize -- recommendation?

My wife took her OW cert dives with Patojo a many years back and she enjoyed her trip. Very local type of experience though, so if that's what you are looking for, then go for it.

Mask Defogger used by the Pacific Whale Foundation

Gold Sea Drops or tooth paste (noth gel and non-mint/menthol) does the trick every time. Just remember to gently rinse the mask after applying the paste or drops so as not to clean it all off before the dive. It's much better than sticking your mask in a bucket full of unknown "stuff".

    What cell phone to get?

No offense to you or your your choice in a stylish phone. However, Razr includes many other capabillities that you don't use and therefore, you won't notice the pooly thought software. Those of us who use our phones to do more than call will appreciate software that's designed better.

    What cell phone to get?

I work with Mobile Technology and in my opinion, there's no competition to a Nokia for ease of use. I would personally choose one of the N series (http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/expectedsoon ) phones coming out soon. Another option is to get the Palm Treo 650 (Palm OS), which has a really nice...

    Turks & Caicos

Your ship may have contracted with one operator to take cruise people out. They usually take cruise people to a separate location than they would a visitor staying on Grand Turk. If you want to avoid your fellow cruise-folk, I have found Oasis Divers and Blue Water Divers and Sea Eye Diving are...

Good (or at least not awful) SCUBA movie list?

You need to watch Life Aquatic again if you missed the comedy in it. Hilarious movie! The Abyss (1989): When a nuclear submarine sinks, a team of divers descends the depths to conduct a rescue mission and to determine the cause.

    Water stuck in My ear

Tilt your head to one side and hop on one foot (water side), while banging the side of your head with your hand. Didn't we all learn this as kids?
