    Dui Cf200 Vs. Tls350??

if you take a CF200 suit with the zipper open and drop it in water (only try this if you have a very long time to let it dry out) it will sink. And then throw in your stupid friend for throwing your CF200 suit in, and he will sink also (friend may require some lead depending on swimming...

    NJ/NY Wreck Dive Reports

5/22 headed out on the wreck valley (with deep lou on board) to the oregon. fog was thick all day with the surface vis about 100 yards on perfectly calm seas... was kind of spooky, it seemed like we were on a calm lake, not ten miles out in the atlantic. temp on the bottom was between 34 and 38...

    Dui Cf200 Vs. Tls350??

with the CF200 you will wear less weight then a 7mm wet suit, I dropped about 8 pounds when I switched to diving dry with a CF200. The CF200 suit is also slightly negative in salt water and the bouyancy doesn't change at depth like a regular neoprene suit does.

    Dive Rite or Halcyon?

Ben, my role in the scuba industry is that of a customer of both online and LDS type retailers. I am also someone who has spent ALOT of money on gear and training over the past thirteen years (more money then I like to think about), and purchased tens of thousands of dollars of gear for a...

    Dive Rite or Halcyon?

Depending on the store and the brand, it's anywhere between 25% on smaller items to over 100% on larger items. Thats why dealer price lists are protected like nuclear weapons.... If you actually knew how much the markup was on some items you buy, you would call the dealer a thief and never buy...

    Question: Computer vs. Software Tables

I run a set of tables with a five and ten minute overrun, and then dive my computer... I plan to leave at my intended time, using the deco sched my comp gives me. if the computer craps out, I use the tables. even if I get into trouble and stay over a few minutes, then my computer craps out, I...

    DIR and Drysuits

Mike, my cf-200 is actually negative in water (experimented myself) and I have never noticed any compression at depth, except for the neoprene wrist seals... I can speak for the "hypercompressed" type suits, but I think the "crushed" suit is made specificaly Not to compress under pressure.

    Tank size for new divers

If you use an H-valve you have the same redundancy (sp?) as diving doubles with the exception of a tank o-ring extrusion, which is extremely rare to begin with. There are lots of people who use H-valves or Y-valves for deep or penetration dives with full deco procedures. I don't think diving a...

    Oceanic

I use oceanic diaphragm first stages... The older kind, DX2 I think is the model designation. They are work horses, been to 200' with not even a hiccup. I use an alpha sp4 piston reg on one of my deco bottles and one for playing around on the beach and never had any problems. I will also admit...

I don't know why I keep doing this.

Gary, I speak as someone who has been there. Please take my words to heart, I know what you are going through and some counseling will help. I have had some mandated couselling (after 9/11) and I have also gone to voluntary sessions after particularly horrible incidents we've had. Trust me, it...

    becoming a PSD...

for the most part "recovery" means possible crime scene. this means that everything must be carefully documented and collected, and without proper training and procedures a criminal may get away with it. as for rescue, there are very few people who can keep all the needed gear packed in their...

Help with gear Poseidon versus Aqualung

The cyklons can absolutly be adjusted for both cracking pressure and the venturi effect. The cracking pressure is adjusted by turning the seat in or out (from inside the body after removing the hose) and the plastic collar rotates in the housing to direct the air. if you have it directed...

Help with gear Poseidon versus Aqualung

all the parts in the cyklon second stage for a rebuild can be had for about ten bucks. And if you have a copy of the poseidon manual, you can rebuild the second stage in about 20 minutes, including cleaning. It is a simple design that has been proven to work under the harshest of conditions. The...

Help with gear Poseidon versus Aqualung

poseidon regs are great regs with all types of diving. the cyklon reg in particular likes it deep, the deeper you go the better they breathe. the only drawback to poseidon regs is finding a good poseidon tech to work on them. the first stages can be a little finiky and they really do need to be...

    what about them lawsuits ...

ooof, that "stuff" is quite complicated to spell out in any easy terms. But it looks like if sartek wants to lay claim to having the first and only one when the patent was sent in, then they will have a hard time dismissing the other companies out there that were making the same type at the same...
