    PST - E series 80?

Wasn't correcting you, but pointing out the size and pressure difference btw your tank and the one that started this thread. 3442psi vs 2400psi and 24" tall vs 20" tall.

    1st stage ID

let me add that the two "plugs" on the ends are not ports, they are adjustment/take apart covers, not plugs like the scuba pros with the ports on the ends

    Help identifying Poseidon regulator model...

The one thing with the 300 that you have to be aware of s the threads on the hose ports. They are not standard threads. A standard 3/8" or 7/16" hose will start to thread in but a couple turns later will strip out the hole and bung up the reg body, to the point that the port is no longer usable...

    1st stage ID

OK boys and girls, can anyone please tell me what brand/model of regulator I have here. I got one of these used but new condition and was wondering what brand it is so I can hunt down some parts for it. It is a diaphragm with a 300 bar fitting on it, four LP ports and two HP ports. Thanks in...

Are Force Fins really that bad?

well, you don't understand it.... spec ops teams like the SEALs and SF aren't held to the same restrictions and don't have to go with the lowest bidder, and very seldom do. Speaking from first hand knowledge, the special operation community is where most of the high tech diving gear has come...

    Mixing brands

you can mix and match any first and second stage regs as long as the intermediate pressure is the same or within the accepted range quoted by the manufacturer for the second stage. the second stage doesn't know what brand the first is... it only knows the pressure its getting. most regs are...

    PST - E series 80?

The E7-80 is a HP tank rated at 3442psi not 2640psi.... its also smaller then an LP 80 by about 4"

    PST - E series 80?

The latest price sheet I saw for PST did not list the LP-80, only the E-series tanks... the list was marked 4/04, other then that I have no info

    PST - E series 80?

you have a Pre E-series PST low pressure 80. They used to call them AQUA-SPORT or AQUA-PRO depending on if high (3500) or low pressure (2400). I don't remember which is which. Still a good tank, but different then the E-series tanks. The DOT rating 3AA2400 tells you that it is a standard (not...

    WOW.. How incredibly rude

all you guys with the pine wood regs and ebony backplates are dumb..... Teak is the only wood that will stand up to extended marine exposure..... just go strip some decking off a nice sailboat down at the local marina, the really expensive boats have miles of the stuff on deck.... please...

Diver dies near shipwreck off coast of Long Island

diving in the northeast atlantic ain't like diving in the keys. And unless you dove here or some parts of the great lakes you can't understand. 5'-10' vis with a two knot current in 38 degree water is the norm, not the exception. visibility on good days ranges from 10'-20'. Unless a buddy is...

    Why Alu tank float?

did his principal float? was he also the swim team coach? I don't see what a school administrator has to do with a steel vs aluminum question...... :eyebrow:

    Funniest thing you've seen underwater?

saw a class of new students jump in the quarry, only to have half of their tanks slide out the bottoms of their BCs and pull them over backwards. I guess they hadn't covered the part about making the straps tight....seeing four guys with their tanks between their knees on the training platforms...

    "Ripping Current" definitions

"kite in the wind" would be a good visual of a diver on a line in a ripping current..... or when the mate pulls the anchor and 2 minutes later he looks like he's water skiing behind the boat.... thats ripping current

Last second Ebay outbidders, I hate em

http://www.gunbroker.com/Support/SupportFAQView.asp?FAQID=1036 at this auction site for guns they have a rule that any bid in the last 15 minutes will extend the auction untill there have been no more bids for 15 minutes, this prevents sniping. not a bad idea for sellers, but bad for biddrs...

    BC Failure Survey

got a small pin hole in the inflator hose... looked like a bubble formed when the hose was made cause the area around the hole was very thin and it wasn't in a wear spot, just btw the "ribs" on the hose... it just "popped" and started leaking veeeery slowly... didn't notice at first, I kept...

    Why Alu tank float?

the same reason a 65,000 ton aircraft carrier floats while a 1 lb block of aluminum sinks. A solid block of steel weighing 65,000 tons would be the size of a house, whereas the carrier is esentially hollow and is the same weight but the size of a skyscraper. It (the carrier) displaces more water...
