E series are Notrix ready, not oxygen ready. Vyton O rings are what you need if you are going way of O2. Any credible gas blender will more then likely insist on O2 cleaning the tanks and O rings before first fill anyway. At least that's what happens in my LDS (which happens to be my habits with...
Your buddy should get a PFO test. One in four people has it. Which means that one in four divers has it. Easy to fix and he will never have problems again.
Happened to a friend of mine and I am getting tested soon.

Ian at Ocean Explorers has nicely photographed maps for varies dive sites including the ones you are talking about. Give him a visit. Better yet, spend some money on a few boat rides and I am sure he will be happy to share more then just a few maps.

No, not really. Although that was the first time there for me. So I did have a good time swimming through the kelp forrest and playing with the swimming scallops.
Plus I was cold and had to pee. So the next dive with the shark was MUCH better.

My dive partner and dove Ogden on Thursday as our first dive and then headed over to Henderson Point (close to Sidney) for our second.
Despite dropping down to 90 feet to look for sharks, a beautiful 10 foot 6 gill found us at about 65 feet of water on our way back up. It was about 5 feet...
Did 6 dives between Aug 6th - 8th and did not see any sharks. Beautiful vis though (75 feet +). Profile varied with the dives but we hung out mostly between 60 - 90 feet as they are most sighted in that range.

Thanks and I have. If you will note, by the 3rd post, I had realized that people were either not answering my question or I could not completely understand what they were trying to explain.
So I spent 1/2 hour on the phone with Suunto tech support and got my answer, which I posted for all to...
Ok,
I phoned Suunto and they give me this answer:
The reason the pp O2 is adjustable is because Suunto realizes that different agencies teaches different things. Such as PADI teaches 1.4 ppO2 is the the max depth but NAUI teaches 1.5 is the max depth. Suunto lets you play with the ranges...
Mike,
I know what 1.4 is. Please read my original question. I am trying to find out why Vytec allows me to enter pp O2 value between 0.5 and 1.6.
Also the Suunto fsw is shallower then my calculations. In my example, 1.4 pp O2 for 33% is only 102 feet instead of 107 feet. Hence the question...
Yes I was aware that Vytex will not allow me to change to a mix that is not appropriate for my depth (ie. 100% O2 at 80 feet). So the abilty to change the pp O2 in my question only effects when I can do gas switching?
In my example if I am set for 33%, 1.4pp O2, 102 feet. I can't switch to...
I have yet to figure this out and have read the manual several times. I am hoping someone can explain this to me.
When entering the mix for my nitrox (say 33%), the Vytex allows me to alter the pp O2 from 0.5 to 1.6. When I press the up and down buttons to do so, it changes the max depth...
This message is too late for Sunday (Lookout Express) I am sure (it's 12:16 in the morning). But we are heading out on Monday morning (Furry Creek) and later in the week (Lookout Express again) as well.
Message me to get more details.

There is more then likely a bunch of people from GPD in the water during that weekend. You can message me to find out who is going when and where.

The one at 70 feet is still there as of July 8th. It swam right out of the hole and hung out with us for quite a while. Very friendly.
I am going to look for the pair that is about 20 feet deeper on Sat.
Henry
I didn't say you were wrong. I was clarifying who the "buddy" was. The ambulance driver was told 60 feet for 30 minutes when he shot up.
The information was given by the divers to the ambulance guys. It was passed on to me by one of many Wednesday night divers at the park who was there when...
