Nothing more to add.
Were you out of gas, or why didnt you do the deco stop?
And why didnt you do a safety stop?
A safety stop would probably lower your gf enough to clear your deco aswell.
On such a "deep" and long dive there should always be a good long safety stop, even when no deco.
Self buil hookah, solo diving, and hookah itself isn't really what we call "safe"
you said you are interested in a safe activity. So take a dive course and learn it the right way. And buy quality equipment.
I don't have the thumb loop around my thumb. Just slightly reaching through the seal, so air can travel. If I need to I can push it back. But this if of course not an easy task with any tube, loop or whatever goes under the seal.
I use the thumb loop aswell. Works fine.
I use my wing for buoyancy, so I dive with a little squeeze most of the time. Of course if it gets uncomfortable I add air, but I like having no air in my drysuit, because of the better trim and no air bubble to manage.
Thanks for your detailed response.
Of course I would not issue both cards, my, CD said its only necessary to do the 3 dives, not the certification. I never heared about that before and asked multiple questions.
Then my CD might be wrong. I read the instructor manual in German and didn't read...
Ok i looked it up.
The a dive in AOWD has the same prerequisite, as the whole specialty. (Exceptions are: ice, cavern and self reliant).
The prerequisite for the deep dive specialty is adventure diver. So you need to have 3 AOWD dives (including the theorie). It is not necessary to certify the...
I am sure a prerequisite for the deep dive is being a adventure diver. Which is done after 3 aowd dives.
But I will look it up and will clarify it. Maybe I remember it wrong.
It was completely filled with water?
Usualy they still have air in it.
Then it's of course to much weigth.
It's difficult, because you need enough weigth to bring you down with a drysuit and 12 kg is not uncommon.
But if it floods the bcd/wing has to be able to lift the person.
The deep dive can only be dive 4 or 5 from the aowd. Not the first one.
The refresher was a scam. You paid for it, but didn't recieve anything. Only aowd dives.
The weighting seems strange.. 8kg neutral in a drysuit with fully inflated bcd?
A bcd lifts about 16 kg at least.
drysuit with 8 kg...
After 30m I really feel strong narcosis.
The difference between 30 and 40m is huge.
I had a 40m dive where I felt warm. Like really warm. Water temp was 4 degree..
if you can descent for 1 feet you can descent for 1000 feet.
If you did descent, you were negatively buoyant. And this won't change. If you go deeper, you suit compresses and you will be even more negatively.
I see a lot of beginners with this problem.
Sometimes they inhale, which makes them...
In the article one case is reported to be bend at 4m.which is about 12 ft.
So the answer is yes. There is at least one reported case, where this happened.
I heared about cases, where people got skin bends in a 3m pool.
Drinking alcohol the night before. Dehydrated and going up and down to fast. I spoke with the person, who claims to saw multiple skin bends of this kind.
I think(please correct me if I am wrong), that the deco models assume a...
I know, I always read all posts before I write my own.
I meant, that it should not be done. It is possible. Especially, because he already had science of diving. But I is a bad idea.
Wow.. You should check the SSI standards, and see if they covered everything.
Like we discussed here and in the other thread about DM: a DM course is usually over half a year and about 50-100 dives. A lot of Theorie and assisting in classes.
Most of the questions you asked here should have...
thats shocking.. What king of incidents was he talking about?
most DM´s i know are not master scuba diver.
nitrox and deep are the only specialty, that are done until DM certification(most of the time).
But this depends on the kind of diver. if they got access to a mentor, they skip some...
Even if the instructor goes only by minimum standarts one part of them is to evaluate the diving skills of the divemaster.
For Padi one "skill" the divemaster has to perform is: Being a rolemodel for students.
When an instructor signs of a DM he insures, that he has good diving skills, good...
