OTS Nose Block adapter for OceanReef Full Face Masks

That's pretty neat! However I learned to equalize without using the nose blocks. I've used both and def agree, the OTS has a way better design for their blocks.

    Full Face Masks

I agree, that worries me even more due to the chance of getting stuck solo and needing help or time to problem solve. My gf is my dive buddy 80+% time. We use ffms usually due greater comfort in the cold water. We have comms but never use it now. Hand signals seem to be the best configuration...

    Full Face Masks

After messing around a lot with FFM. I probably have over 100 FFM dives. I can live without a backup mask pretty easily, if a failure meant going up to the surface. But an uncontrolled bail to the surface with a spare air if anything happened is completely dumb...

    Full Face Masks

Recreationally, for lots of pro reasons listed above which translate to more comfortable for me... I used the ocean reef ffm Rare occasions, I'll take 2x tanks of the same gas with my ffm. However, I'll probably never do it technically. If yall are new to tech diving, I'd recommend (1) focus...

    RK3 HDs and diving.

I used them for 80 dives in rash guard and 7mm booties. I liked them a lot. Especially appreciated them when I dove 2-3 tanks.

    Free descent help!

Remember that it takes time for you to descend with a thick wetsuit. Bubbles are slowly coming out. This may take 10 - 30 secs. From the surface dump just enough air to barely start sinking. Use your lungs to actually descend at the start. Try to maintain them at 25% capacity or less. Then...

    Nauseated during dive

Usually around 20 ft to 0. Before then I'll do maybe 10-30 ft/min. I always try to take it nice and slow coming up. I don't know why, but it makes a huge difference for me. I've suggested it to others that had other issues and it seem to help some of them.

    Nauseated during dive

I get sea sick and motionsickness fairly easy. Doing it a lot helps desensitized the stressor for me. I tend to have the issue more out of water... I also noticed that if I slow down my ascent rate to 3ft/min it is greatly reduced.

Question on Safety Stop Buoyancy Abilities

@tmassey good point. I guess we must assume conditions permitting. I've been in surge 5ft+. Throwing me while I fail to hold onto rocks. XD I try not to ever do dives like that now

Question on Safety Stop Buoyancy Abilities

I can maintain ~1 ft while solving an issue. Even better if I was using an smb, fine tuning, or diving a lot. I do about 100 dives a year. OC Tech level cert.

    Side-mounting 2 different sizes (ex: 80cu & 40cu).

I didn't realize the dgx kits were that expensive @@. I usually just get the tank clamps myself

    Side-mounting 2 different sizes (ex: 80cu & 40cu).

DGX has sling/sm kits. If you have qs you can pm me. Yeah Sling its just hanging out. SM strictly is its perfectly parallel to your body and trim out to one or each side. Butt plates are usually used for heavy steel tanks due to how they trim out. In reality, I think most people can get away...

    Side-mounting 2 different sizes (ex: 80cu & 40cu).

In your case, it'll be a lot easier to backmount the al80. You can sling the 40. Once your comfortable with that you can sidemount the 40 instead. It'll be more streamlined. Just a simple mod to your bpw. In the future if you want to learn real SM with a SM bcd. You can do al80+40 SM if you...

    Side-mounting 2 different sizes (ex: 80cu & 40cu).

Sounds like you never sidemounted before and a fairly new diver. I recommend a course with a qualified SM instructor. At least a tutorial for a couple days in a pool with friend that knows sidemount. Note you can make a bpw work with some mods work but a SM rig will be much better. You should...

    Personal pet peeve

My noise canceling headphones takes care of 98% of my pet peeves. However... when the person infront of you reclines completely back and almost hits you in the face. And leaves it there the whole plane ride... Those type of people deserve a special place in hell

Have you used an Air 2 in COLD water?

I agree an Air 2 does not belong in technical dives. However, what was the problem that made you realize the Air2 wasn't for you. Was the hose too short? You didn't like how it breathed? Too hard to control buoyancy of your BCD while breathing from it?
