I disagree unless I know my dive buddy personally and dive often with them. I do not want some insta buddy or someone who I know through other people telling me ok on air and find out if I have an issue they dont have enough air to get us both to safety.

While this statement is true, most of these units do not have a pump on them and can not draw the outside air in and therefore the outside air we breathe is useless when calbrating these units.

I dont want to hijack this thread, but I didnt realize there was a difference between a tropical drysuit and a cold water drysuit. I would assume whats under the suit is the thermal protection. If it was warm water you could just go with a long sleeve shirt and pants right?
If its comerical diving you want to do then I say go for it. But research it a little bit as you say you have no diving experiance I would bet it may not be what you think it is. I did however hear they pay really well. Good luck
I have the Geo and I love it. I wear it every day as a regular watch and also a dive computer. The one thing that catches my eye is your quote above. If this is the case throw the Geo out the window and get something BIGGER. Again though I love mine.
