NDR - The most amazing speech - Charlie Chaplin

Great speech indeed. So sad that so many of us tend to forget our humanity. Thank you for posting, here is a video I like. Que te vaya bien, Antonio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUZWgU-x6WU&feature=player_embedded

PDC Hotel recommendations for two young (and new) divers

I wouldn't recommand driving a car back to your hotel/condo after partying. Since you want to mix beach/diving/nightlife, your best options are to either stay in Playa itself, within walking distance to beach and dive shop (can always take a cab to go home after a wild night if too far to walk)...

PDC Hotel recommendations for two young (and new) divers

BTW, I believe this is the link jmb wanted to post : Playa del Carmen, Mexico forum You might want to post there your questions regarding food, lodging and nightlife. While the Scubaboard Cozumel subforum is very active, info can be scarce for other Mexican destinations as far as non-diving...

    Scuabamau diving accident

"To all the people who write, support or call me, I want you to know that thanks to all of you I'm doing my best and am very motivated. You all need to know that I'm not very good at using a computer :P But thank God I have Jennifer Pobiak and Denise Paz helping me with the donations that people...

PDC Hotel recommendations for two young (and new) divers

Anywhere between USD 6 (tacos and a soda in a local taqueria in the 'hood) to over USD 50 for a nice meal in a touristy place with a few drinks. For food only, plan on spending USD 5 (at the cheapest places) to 20 per dinner and per person depending on your appetite and the fanciness/location of...

    cozumel accident 9/4/11, THE FACTS

Not a knowledgeable person by any means but maybe there was no regulator attached to the O2. I got bent once and put on O2, it was connected to a mask, not a reg. Not something that could be breathed off underwater. Wasn't on a boat, though (delayed symptoms, went to the dive op who put me on O2...

Would you recommend Cozumel to two young adults?

If the little bro wants to have fun, then I would consider splitting your vacation. Fly into Cozumel (or do the bus and ferry trip from Cancun), spend a few days on the island to just dive and relax (rent a car one day to visit the nice beaches on the South and Esta coast, eat out in great...

Would you recommend Cozumel to two young adults?

A guide (DM or instructor) is required for all dives in the Marine Park and can only take 8 divers max. This guide is included in the total cost of the trip (tips are extra, not mandatory but very welcome). Depending on the dive op and how many customers and boats they have, sometimes you'll...

Would you recommend Cozumel to two young adults?

I agree with most of what has been said in the previous posts. Regarding diving, Cozumel is incredibly awesome (beautiful reefs and marine life, lots of different sites) and has great infrastructures (many good dive ops, regulated industry and marine park, chambers and medical facilities in case...

    Scuabamau diving accident

According to Kevin's posts, this wasn't a guided dive. There were three (not four) people involved, two of them (Opal and Gabi Loco) who work at the dive shop and the third diver who was not a customer (Kevin specified this in a post that has been removed since). It seems to me this was a dive...

Suites Bahia or Vista del Mar

I stayed at Vista Del Mar in Dec 2009 and loved the ocean view rooms. Mainly for the decoration (nice wood furniture, stone mosaic details in the bathroom, hammock chair on the balcony… quaint and romantic), the awesome view and how helpful the staff was. The room was super well-kept and...

Resort Beach Villas? Need some help!

I've seen some villas that would fit your needs (on the ocean, shore snorkeling and possibly diving available, in a resort with amenities, pick up dock, 2-bedroom suite or more) but they are located on the North side of town. Few dive ops pick up there, check with yours. Of course, if you have a...

Questions for Coz residents : Internet costs, speed, reliability…?

Thank you ! I will do some research regarding provider and bandwidth before renting an appartment if I do get the job (fingers crossed). Would rather go with Telmex as I have no need/desire to buy a TV set. My experience using WiFi in public places (Coffee Bean, Los Otates…) a few months...

Questions for Coz residents : Internet costs, speed, reliability…?

Thanks for the very useful info so far. Deborah, any issues with your Telmex connection? RubberDucky's experience worries me, I could work around an occasional 3-week outage (just go stay with friends on the continent or in the US), but not if it happens regularly.
