    New with ear problems

Hi Fletch! Yes, there is hope. Lots of hope. Don't be discouraged. You are smart to visit the doctor. For me, any irritant causes inflammation in and around my sinuses, including my Eustachian tubes. Inflammation makes it harder to equalize, even if you are skilled at it. Last year I was...

    Wanted SS1 hose adapter

@saxman242 Yes, I'm sure it did. I've added a BC and want to switch between two different BCs so I need an additional adapter of the same size for the 2nd BC. Thanks for the responses, but I found the kit online for around $15, which is less than the $35 I originally was considering. Cheers!

    Wanted SS1 hose adapter

Oops, the kit only comes with one sleeve, which is necessary. Guess I can't use somebody's left over parts...

    Wanted SS1 hose adapter

I'm not sure if I put this in the BCD or Regulator classified section. I need a hose adapter for the Atomic SS1. The kit comes with three sizes for $27 to $35. I'm hoping somebody has an unused extra. I'll measure it later tonight when I get home.

Scared of DCS after 1st dive

You also might be over-breathing. I used to get mildly unintentionally hyper-ventilated and have a little vertigo as a result.

    Why no hands?

Is it also that hand-swimming is usually a sign of poor buoyancy control? I see lots of divers who constantly swish their hands back and forth, maybe to add a little upward thrust to counteract their negative buoyancy. If they stop this constant flapping, they sink...

What’s the most random or awesome thing you’ve found on a dive?

I found a green infinity stone. I think Dr. Strange dropped it...

Sinking of the Voici Bernadette Off St. Lucie

"This vessel had been compensated not once but twice while engaged in drug smuggling activities by US Customs and Border Protection." Hope this is auto-correct error, not word confusion. I believe it is 'confiscated'.

    Here I come Florida!

That's the risk I'm going to take. I'm planning alternative activities if needed.

    Tank pocket?

When slinging a pony or stage bottle, or during side mount diving, does anyone add a pocket to the tank? I could imagine it a convenient location to store some gear, but also a possible hazard, depending on one's perspective.

Trip Review: Tres Pelicanos (3Ps) & Casa Mexicana

1:10 minutes seems like a lot of standing around. Any option to go straight to the boat?

    Is flying anything like diving??

That's the 'Discover Cessna' intro deal.

    Is flying anything like diving??

Recreational diving is pretty easy, and requires only a rudimentary understanding of the physics and technology, and some average physical skills for swimming. Flying has three distinct components, all of which require much more than rudimentary skills and learning: 1. Physical manipulation of...

    DGX Bag Sleeve?

I bought this: DGX All-Mesh Lift Bag Sleeve | Dive Gear Express® I planned to hang it at the bottom of my backplate. But, the velcro mouth is very secure, and I worry I can't open it one handed. It feels like it would take two hands to open, like a zip-lock baggie. What if I pull on one...

    Tank color choice?

I have a gift card for Amazon, so I'm going to buy a pony bottle. I have a choice of brushed or black. Any reason not to get the brushed? I think it might heat up slower than black when sitting in the sun. Anything else I should consider?

    Here I come Florida!

Hi David! I used to live in Tampa, Lakeland, and Orlando (Altamonte Springs). As a kid, I spent summers in New Smyrna. I know those areas a little, but never spent much time down south. Just a few scuba trips to Key Largo. Unfortunately I'm stuck in the Willamette Valley. I love the...

    Here I come Florida!

Well, not quite yet... but just booked a trip for November. I couldn't pass up round trip tickets from Oregon to Daytona for <$300. I will be visiting my mom for a week, and then 5 days of diving down south. I'm going to stop and dive BHB with @Scuba_Jenny on my way to Key Largo. I just...

    Info Optimal Buoyancy Computer

I was thinking about this too. Maybe the 'personal buoyancy input' should have it's own drop down box where we could tell if the test was done it salt or fresh water. Then you could calculate the missing information either way. The other drop down box would be for choosing where you will be...
