    Surface interval on boat dive

I did not no that there would not be a stop after dive 1. I knew that on my computer, I had 14 min NDL time left after dive 2. My tables were in my BCD pocket, and never left it. I quess my question is more along the lines of, "if we had a 45 min. SI wouldn't it have been safer and for that...

Proper fit for a wetsuit hood?

What type of hood is this? My problem is that my neck is about the same size as my waist. Most hoods that fit my fat head, cause a choking sensation in my neck, so I use a beanie. Stan

    sea-sickness

I have posted this in another thread, but . . . On a recent dive trip the dive shop's clerk, ask if I got seasick. After a moment of thought, I said yes. I told her that in my experience, under the right conditions, everyone gets seasick. I do not know if that caused a problem or not, but it...

On a recent dive trip the dive shop's clerk, ask if I got seasick. After a moment of thought, I said yes. I told her that in my experience, under the right conditions, everyone gets seasick. I do not know if that caused a problem or not, but it is the truth. I lived aboard and sailed a 40...

Boat operators-differences between good & bad divers?

I always thought of that as chumming. Sure to bring on good fish. But why is it that almost everyone with Mal de Muir runs to the weather side of the boat? Darn, while trying to prevent a disaster (vomit in the wind), I grab a young Lady by the only available handle, her thong, not a good...

    What is "real experience"

We are all about our experience. We grow and die by our experience. Divers and instructors are no different. C-cards allow us to dive, experience allows us to dive safely. Stan

    High or Low Tide?

No, No, go on the end of ebb tide. Then you go by the bridge pylons at 3 knots and when the tide changes, you go back by them at . . . yes, 3 knots. The greatest advantage in this is that if you see a pampano, there is no way you can shoot him, at 3 knots, you can hit him with a 105mm cannon...

PADI's dive depth standards - Vague?

I have responded to this in another thread, however the fact is that many people are introduced to diving in a resort environment. Camera Insurance

I just ordered a PT-019 and after reading about the many deaths of Oly cameras due to flooding, is it practical to insure cameras with the DAN offered equipment insurance? I carry insurance on all my bigger ticket items, but with the 250.00 deductable, does it make sense on a camera? Stan
