    PADI vs NAUI

Oy, now we have scuba aikido. FWIW, Yoshinkan Aikido was started by a student of O Sensi, Gozo Shioda. As for O Sensi himself, his teaching style changed as he developed Aikido. In the beginning, it was a very rough, hard style similar to Aiki Jitsu. During these stages, he labled it Ueshiba...

    PADI vs NAUI

:banghead::angrymob::catfight::argument: and FINALLY :deadhorse: I think this pretty much covers MHO on this. Enjoy whatever certification you are have or are getting, and remember "a good diver is always learning"! Safe & Happy Diving

Should there be a SOLO divers Tank?

How about sidemounting your cylinders? You get large capacity independent singles and the valves/1st stages are within easy reach. You are also more streamlined. Sure beats a back mounted single and slung/mounted pony, especially in the balance/trim department. Take care, George

    Should OW Courses Be Expensive?

Hi Phil, Please check the first sentences of my post - "While discount courses shouldn't mean lowered standards, the old sayings that "You get what you pay for" and "Let the buyer beware" still apply. Make sure you are getting a full quality course." In other words, if you are going to...

Finishing my OW training at FL Springs-Do I need a light?

You are not required to have a light for your OW Training Dives. That being said, it is always a good idea to have a small powerful light with you on all dives. You never know what nooks and crannies you may want to check out (and I'm NOT referring to any OVERHEAD environment) Plus, you will be...

    How's this for nostalgia?

Oh Man! I actually remember all of it! Guess I'm showing my age eh? I remember my youngest son stating: "You had no computers or (computer) games, you had B/W TV with only 4 channels and no cell phones - HOW DID YOU SURVIVE? G-D bless the "Good Ol Days"!

    Should OW Courses Be Expensive?

While discount courses shouldn't mean lowered standards, the old sayings that "You get what you pay for" and "Let the buyer beware" still apply. Make sure you are getting a full quality course. If it's a zero to hero in 8 hours course, you are not getting enough time! Remember, certified does...

    The value of PADI

I personally think the term Advanced Diver is VERY misleading. That one can be called advanced after having only 9 dives is totally wrong. IMHO, one is not an advanced diver unless one has had 100+ dives along with 100+ hours dive time in addition to rescue and specialty training. The advanced...

    PADI Medical Form

As stated above, unless there is a something wrong that the store personal can detect, the shop will generally not question the form. If you are not truthful on the form, the main person that can get hurt is you. A good lawyer will generally be able to clear the shop relatively fast if you...

Hi Primus67, Sorry to hear about your situation. I checked the website you showed. Seems like all the names of the instructors are listed. As mentioned before, I suggest you contact NAUI and explain the problem. Tell them that you need to get a hold of the instructor. They can help you to...

What kind of fins should I buy considering I'm new to this world?

Hi Carlos, Welcome to the world of diving and good luck on your course. I'd like to add to what diveatoo said. Fins, like all scuba equipment have 2 overriding factors in deciding which ones to get - Fit & Comfort. Your best bet is to talk with the LDS (Local Dive Store) where...
