Zeagle Ranger LTD vs. Dive Rite Transpac

Dual bladders are for REDUNDANCY ONLY ... there's only room in the bag for one to be inflated at a time. NEVER EVER try to inflate both for increased lift, that's NOT how you use them. As far as using a Zeagle for advanced rec doubles diving, I see no great problem with it at all if you do...

    New LP121 tank

Gary, I'm glad you accepted my post constructively, that's how I wanted it to be. There are so many new and eager divers that come on and they've been bitten hard by the "bigger is better" bug. They want double 130's and 100# wings etc. Right after their OW cert. ... What's worse is that their...

    New Battery for USD M2

If you're talking about the rectangular shaped Monitor II, we did a search on the net and found 1 place in the states that does the battery replacement, but it's $75 plus shipping ... not the most cost effective choice. On the other hand, with some skill and patience, you can do it yourself...

    New LP121 tank

From reading your post, and reading a bit between the lines, I'm sensing that you're somewhat new to the sport, or at least not a frequent diver. That 121 when filled to 3000 to 3200# gets you close to 150cft .... That's a massive amount of backgas .. you can get into some really deep ka-ka...

    Sea-Doo SeaScooter & DSAT - I CALL 'Shenanigans'

As I recall, you did a test report on them both last year. Wasn't it the SeaDoo that had the toy motor and plastic gears from a "Barbie Corvette"? Waiting for the DSAT Tec-Rec decal set for the SeaDoo .... Darlene

Zeagle Ranger LTD vs. Dive Rite Transpac

Since the tanks become less negative as they empty, how in the name of Neptune could you be ok at the Start of the dive and then having too little lift at the End of the dive ...... Something's bass ackwards here .... Darlene There's also a difference between trim and bouyancy...

    St. John, US Virgin Islands

Is that it's a dive job in the caribbean... Unless some one has roots here, or some vested interest, (ie: proprietary interest in a shop) ..... There's an incredible burn out factor involved with babysitting what amout to *mediocre at best* tourist divers day in and day out, at the same...

would like input on computers that do He?

It's a lot more computer for not that much more money, and it has room to grow with firmware updates. More feedback to ponder, Darlene

would like input on computers that do He?

They are in fact amazing instruments, considering what they can do under great presure. I found the Explorer to be a great dive enhancement tool. ..... OTH ... Some one in a Nitrox class spending that much money for one at that point in their training, is what I thought a frivolous expense that...

would like input on computers that do He?

So there are 2 significant possibilities that you can't now account for: 1) There will likely be more and better better computers by the time you may *decide you can use one wisely* .... so it's foolish to spend that much money now 2) Once you get that far in your training, you'll know...

    Finally did it

"I find that flipping the entire rig over my head is the best way to do it." If you can do this easily in double 104's, remind me NOT to *piss you off* lol ....

Deploying DSMB with a spool question.

It's on page 128, step #3, deploying the lift bag. The picture is in the pool and doesn't actually show anyone holding the "deployer" down. It's just in the text about having a team mate or your legs holding onto something to hold you down. I can't recall if the video showed anything additional...

    Reefs

It's still in the 80's here at 100' or so, if that's warm enough for ya. Hawaii is significantly cooler than the caribbean, and less colorful soft corals as well .. on the plus side though, they don't have hurricanes .... From the sunny warm caribbean, Darlene

Wetsuit recommendations for USVI in February

The Rhone is on the "must do" list, soooo much history there. You'll have some nice wrecks to choose from in St T and St J waters as well, if you like wrecks. The reefs are quite god there as well. You'll have to come here to St Croix though, if you want to dive the wall. Most of us that live...

Wetsuit recommendations for USVI in February

most folks here from colder climates do fine in 3 mil shortys, a 3 mil full would be great if it's a cool or windy day, your 4/3 will be toasty, even for night dives .. forget the hood and gloves only if they are the tropical variety. Which island (s) are you visiting? Darlene

    max depth with standard air

and that's what those tables were based on. We've come a long way since then, and still have a long way to go. *Yet some how* .... Some aspects seem to still be quite valid. You notice that for anything deeper than 150', they allow only first class and master divers .... Even back then they...

    Women Diver Poll

And while I let on to be a www, if the truth be known .... I'd be at Home Depot lookin' at chainsaws if all I had was a frozen lake to dive. Warm wishes from America's tropical paradise, Darlene

One wing for singles and small doubles

*There is no wing that will work for singles and doubles* ..... And .... that won't have you wishing you had spent a few more $$ and just bought 2 wings in the first place a little while after using it a few times. Darlene

    max depth with standard air

While I have the alternative not to have to dive any deeper than I choose on air, I understand that most folks do not. I don't see anything all that risky in diving to 150' or so on air for an experienced diver with experience in deeper dives and a demonstrated competancy at depth. This also...
