I switched from contacts to a prescription mask a decade ago. For me it's just easier not dealing with contacts anymore. Up until now I'd been using a Dive-Rite mask with -8 lenses. My most recent prescription bumped a little, so one eye is -9.5. This time I bought a Promate Seaviewer. It's...
I've changed over to a smaller dive boat when I visit Kona now. But back when I was diving with them, I was able to get a ride to the harbor with Jack's Diving Locker from their shop in town. Ask them if they still offer that service.
I tried the Oly 60mm macro in my Nauticam dome one year. The pictures came out nice and sharp. But I felt that autofocus was a little slow. Normally I shoot the Oly 12-40 Pro in the dome. A friend said that using the macro flat port would help with the autofocus speed. I'll test that out...
The most direct route between Hilo and Kona is known as Saddle Road. It goes up to 6000 ft, and it's recommended to avoid that road after diving. There is another route around the north side of the island thru Waimea that isn't as high. And there's a route around the south side of the island...
You MIGHT be able to find the specs on those blown parts, but what caused them to blow? They're probably a symptom and not the cause.
I'm not an electrical guy. I once had a neighbor who was. That's what he taught me when I blew a car stereo amp.
Maybe just keep the old light as possible...
I recently took the online technician training course from @rsingler. He taught theory and hands-on repair of single hose regs in class. Then, he and I had a separate session where he helped me rebuild and tune my Kraken.
VDH sells service kits and other parts.
Rob's seminar was very good. He has a love and enthusiasm for the subject that shines thru. He also has a huge amount of patience for students and stayed around each day until we ran out of questions. I got a lot out of it and plan to maintain my own regs. And Rob has graciously offered to...
Maybe a bacterial infection? Hot tub folliculitis: Pictures, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment
I got something like that a few times. I started removing my wetsuit and rash guard during surface intervals instead of sitting in hot sea water for an hour.
I don't know how the yellow filter works. I do know that red helps to not spook nocturnal fish. I believe that the fish are not attuned to red wavelengths because the red wavelengths filter out of the water column pretty quickly as you descend. They just haven't needed to see red.
Note that...
I night dive with a red spotting light. Fish don’t seem to see the red light very well compared to white light, so they don’t spook while you’re setting up your shot... especially for nocturnal animals My camera strobes put out white light when I actually take the shot, and that mostly...
If you don't need wheels, have a look at the Lowepro ProTactic 450. I put together some pictures of it for a friend a while back...
The bag itself weighs less than the ThinkTank, leaving more allowance for camera stuff.

I never had an mk1, only the mk2. I generally use the settings from those links, but I have my Fn buttons set a little differently. Using Nauticam housing.
Fn1: magnify
Fn2: record video
Fn3: EVF/LCD viewer
Fn4: focus peaking
Rec button: AEL/AFL (back button focus)
One thing...
Have a look at the settings here: Setting Up the Olympus OM-D E-M5 for Underwater Photography
... They're based on a post on Wetpixel: Underwater settings for the Olympus OM-D E-M5
I just used the same dome that I use with my 12-40mm lens... a 180mm dome with the N85-to-N120 adapter (which makes it fit my housing). The pictures came out good, but it felt slow to autofocus. A buddy said that it works better with a flat port. But I don't have one.
Here are 2 shots from...
